Naomi Osaka broke out in tears and lost the match at indian wells after someone in the crowd shouted "Naomi you suck". While i sympathise with her mental health issues, i dont think this is the life for her tbh

It seems like she is quickly losing public sympathy for incidents like this. Based on some of what Osaka said after that match, it seems like her ideal season is more similar to what Barty is doing now - be very selective about non-slam tournaments in the calendar (e.g. Barty is not playing at all in this current USA stretch). Osaka just had 4 months off which is a lot for a tennis player, so a loss like this isn't a huge surprise at this stage. If she can keep building and consistently make Quarters or Semis in the next few tournaments then her mental fortitude should improve as she becomes more comfortable on-court again.

Tsitsipas also had a 5-setter against Musetti, as did Alcaraz vs Ramos-Vinolas. I would think that these guys, all title contenders on paper, would want to clip through these early rounds as easily as possible. Those hours on court add up after 2 weeks.
