Back when he was vice president Biden randomly stopped by a school near where I work on the way back from a funeral because kids were waving and he wanted to say hi. The area's heavily conservative and the parents had to force the most awkward polite smiles that day. It kinda owned.

Pence also visited as VP for a photo op, but he refused to even be seen by the public, and he's from this loving state.

Legit it’s insane we elect people to public office who are older than 45 and/or have no understanding of modern technology. one of Trumps biggest flaws is that he believes everything posted in his little right wing echo chamber 100% because he lacks basic internet literacy like “maybe not everything I read on this screen is accurate”. so yeah, after terminally online grampa Pres Biden’s aversion to social media is refreshing but don’t act like it’s a positive that we’re once again stuck with an old man who does not know poo poo about computers during a time of unprecedented technological growth. I say this as a person who does not own a computer and I do not know what it’s a response to

Cognitive decline begins between the ages of 45-60 years old. Let that sink in. I don't think his average supporter is aware that he is 74 years old. He's 4 years younger than Biden but without the experience but always plays up Biden as a geriatric who needs his diapers changed.

This world looks very scary....

To those earlier who asked about the crazy Q-Anon lady filing articles of impeachment: It won’t go anywhere. This call for impeachment only got processed so fast because the House leadership was fully behind it. She will submit her bill for impeachment, it will get dumped in the relevant committee where it will be ignored, and then it will die when the session ends.

She is an rear end in a top hat and she is making enemies already. Behind all the posturing and stupidity of floor “debate” the only people who get stuff passed into law are the connected ones who can make deals with people in committees and collect and disburse favors. If you just throw out stupid bills with no possibility of passing you just annoy people, will get dumped in less powerful committees and your only use is when the party wants your vote on the floor. Unless she uses her position to get herself another position quickly somewhere else in government based on someone impressed by her crazy she is killing her career. Maybe if she banded together with the other fashy members they could form a self-supporting group but that seems unlikely and even if it happened it would probably end up like the Tea Party caucus which theoretically still exists but does nothing and never meets. Most people like this are flash in the pan.

AOC and the rest of her Squad are doing it better by working as a group. AOC is living risky being this combative with the Speaker but it may pay off. The assignments she got suggest it is working so far. She and most of the Squad also have safe seats which is a strength as they are unlikely to have to appeal to centrists as much to win elections and a disadvantage working with the rest of the Party who are often annoyed when people with safe seats seem to jeopardize their seat. I am not sure if her ambition is the Senate, leadership in the House, or shooting for President or VP in the future. Bernie Sanders is one of the few people who can pull off a “lone wolf” thing in Congress because he has a lot of popular support in and out of his state and a strong political background.

TLDR: Congress is messed up.

Sorry, this thread moves so fast that it makes me want to ask a lot of questions because you guys give great answers. Is it generally accepted that the executive branch is more about having a state figurehead that is expected to listen to much younger or experienced advisers? Sort of a jack of all trades, master of none type figure. That's why when a pandemic starts you consult with the CDC and Dr. Fauci. It seems Trump perceived the job to be something where he makes all the decisions based on his whims.
