RE bike lanes in the US: It should be noted that most of what's referred to as the "bike lane" in the US is actually just a paved shoulder, separated by a white line. It can be used for pretty much anything, from bike traffic, to pedestrian traffic, to vehicle parking. Proper designated bike lanes are relatively rare and usually only seen in metro areas. You'll know them by their two solid white lines on each side (between the rightmost lane and the shoulder) often with a little stick man bicyclist image, not just a single white line separating the road from the shoulder.

The delta variant has a significantly higher viral load so when people get infected in the same manner as regular covid, they inhale more saucy hot covid and get way sicker, idk.
