Ok, this may sound a little wack at first, but here me out: RBG dying is good for Dems, actually. Scenario 1 (the unlikely scenario): Reps go "We should be honorable and abide by the same standard we demanded in Obama's last year." Everybody on the fence goes "HOLY gently caress WE'D BETTER ELECT BIDEN SO HE CAN APPOINT A NEW SUPREME JUSTICE" Scenario 2 (the much more likely scenario): Reps go "Nah, we'll just ram a guy through at the 11th hour." Everybody on the fence goes "HOLY gently caress WE'D BETTER ELECT BIDEN SO HE CAN EXPAND THE SUPREME COURT" The only way this works in Reps favor is if they ram a guy through and use the Supreme Court to secure the election.
