Is there a theme song this year

Hopefully I'll have that
problem someday.
G1 is going to keep me sane through my work's stressful audit period.

Corgis love bread. And Puro

I am very excited for these shows.

I am not looking forward to the days where the G1 overlaps with the N1. Which fortunately is just the 23rd September & a tiny overlap on the 11th October for the N-1 finals & the start of the G1 show.

That 23rd overlap is a right oval office though.

Kota Ibushi vs. Jay White
Tomohiro Ishii vs. Will Ospreay
Minoru Suzuki vs. Taichi
Kazuchika Okada vs. Yujiro Takahashi
Jeff Cobb vs. Shingo Takagi

vs

Go Shiozaki vs Masaaki Mochizuki
Kaito Kiyomiya vs Kazushi Sakuraba
Takashi Sugiura vs Katsuhiko Nakajima
Kenoh vs Naomichi Marufuji

Probably I lean towards New Japan because Suzuki vs Taichi but Go vs Mochi & Sugi vs Nak :(

I hope the A Block gimmick between Ishii, Shingo, Cobb and Suzuki is seeing who can beat Yujiro the fastest.

EDIT: You could have Taichi try to get in on the action only to lose to Yujiro. That would be cool.

Number 1 Bullshit
Since 5 star matches are in the news due to the AEW match and G1 is coming up, I decided to watch Ishii/Shibata from G1 2013 since I've never watched that before.

Good lord

It didn't even win match of the year that year, correctly. 2013 was an insane year all over the world.

PRO WRESTLING MATCH OF THE YEAR
1. Hiroshi Tanahashi Vs. Kazuchika Okada 4/7 Tokyo (305)2,002
2. Katsuyori Shibata vs. Tomohiro Ishii 8/4 Osaka (153) 1,497
3. Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada 10/14 Tokyo (142) 1,151
4. Brock Lesnar vs. C.M. Punk 8/18 Los Angeles (76) 829
5. John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan 8/18 Los Angeles (34) 556
6. Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tomohiro Ishii 8/2 Tokyo (14) 451
7. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kota Ibushi 8/4 Osaka (33) 338
8. Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada 1/4 Tokyo (39) 252
9. Katsuyori Shibata vs. Hirooki Goto 6/22 Osaka (11) 229
10. Undertaker vs. C.M. Punk 4/7 East Rutherford (15) 212
HONORABLE MENTION:
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kazushi Sakuraba 1/4 Tokyo 195,
John Cena vs. C.M. Punk 2/25 Dallas 184,
Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose vs. Daniel Bryan & Kane & Ryback 12/16/12 Brooklyn 126,
KENTA vs. Takashi Sugiura 5/12 Tokyo 115,
Kevin Steen vs. El Generico 12/16/12 New York 112,
Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada 8/10 Tokyo 112,
Akira Tozawa & Ricochet vs. Naruki Doi & BxB Hulk 7/21 Kobe 97

Now I've made myself sad reminding myself CM Punk was so loving good for so long and managed to destroy his own legacy when he would've been in the Hall of Fame by now if he hadn't.

That Shibata vs. Ishii match sounds cool as gently caress.

Edit:

2 and 1/2 minutes in and Ishii and Shibata are just exchanging these hard as gently caress shots with each other. Match is loving insane.

Edit:

that loving kick out at 1 by Shibata after the Ishii lariat was loving awesome.

They're fine, and even very good on occasion, but boy if your sleep schedule isn't lined up correctly with the G1 that extra hour and change can really prove demotivating to staying up for the whole show.
