I suspect the assault being so close to court was an aggravating factor but still at least he only got two of his three strikes in

There's a very happy and extraordinarily friendly chap in Hastings who spends many hours of his day at a traffic light intersection with his squeegee and bucket. He doesn't solicit custom from the motorists waiting at the red light, but the occasional person will gesture towards him indicating that they would love to have their window washed for a small fee. I have spoken to this man a couple of times. Modest man. He likes it because it's something to do and he gets around $20-$50 a day. Locals regularly call the Police on him because they feel intimidated. They also believe him to be a traffic hazard. These callers are probably from Havelock North.
