Shimrra Jamaane posted:Game of Thrones allegedly accidentally filmed a rape scene and while it seemed ridiculous at the time the way things unraveled with the writers by the end of the series I now believe it. The show writers were by all accounts very stupid, but I still never understood how one changes dialogue from "yes yes" to "no no" by accident.

The Klowner posted:Jon Hamm is a tall, attractive guy with a deep voice who is capable of speaking with an appearance of confidence. Men like to imagine themselves being tall, being attractive, speaking with a deep voice, and appearing confident. I think when people say they want to "be Don Draper," what they really mean is "be Jon Hamm." Basically. Pointing out the ways in which he's actually weak or insecure inside is missing the point, because that's not part of the fantasy, the image is.

Gaius Marius posted:I disagree Putting the onus on someone else "Fixing" you is an toxic way to have a relationship. Having a Psychologist Girlfriend would be just as much of a quick nonfix as having Betty as a Rich society wife, or Megan as a good with children wife. Faye knew jackshit about what Don's actual life was like any insight she had was just as superfluous as Megan knowing that his birth name is Dick. It's not that Faye has an obligation to Don. Rather, if he could have recognized why she'd be better for him than Megan and more, actually acted on that and chosen Faye, it'd have been a large and healthy step for him towards fixing himself.

Solkanar512 posted:I would guess that the sort of college Betty went to was more of a finishing school rather than the more typical college experience we think of today that Megan likely got. I'd consider it a bigger favor if someone considered what I wanted and then half-assed it, than if they put a huge effort into doing something for themselves

Don has a lot of flaws, but his inability to follow a rapidly spoken conversation in a foreign language really is the most unforgivable.

MightyJoe36 posted:The line "I don't think about you at all." comes from an Ayn Rand novel (The Fountainhead). I'm wondering if that's a call back to Season 1 when Cooper told Don to read the book and learn about her. Was just going to ask if anyone thought it was a reference (because it for sure is). Don is ofc much less of a psycho than Roark, who's was being completely truthful.
