Whatever happened to Puig? I know he caught the rona near the start of the season, but presumably he's long since over it? I'm surprised zero teams tried to roll the dice on him.
Nobody touched him after the Covid thing. I still haven't heard anything but I wonder if this might be it for him in the majors.

From what I have been hearing, a lot of player dev positions at the MLB level are getting axed this year

Yes and they are cutting multiple MiLB levels going into 2021 so that's more money they don't have to pay between the coaches and the players

Yes especially at the short-season level which was a season that lasted from like June 28th-September 1st

There are now three players who could make their MLB debut in the postseason. Only two have ever previously done that in the history of baseball.

The Marlins' first three starters are some combo of Lopez, Sixto, and Sandy.

Lopez has been pretty good overall. Just not very flashy like Sixto.

In all this talk of the Rays being the real bad guys for being penny pinchers, i think we lost track of the fact that the Astros are such pinchers themselves they lobbied the league to effectively kill minor league baseball. You wanna talk about what economic choices are being made that are ultimately bad for the game long term look no further.
Yes and they have been pushing not just the minor league contraction scheme (which succeeded), but have also been pushing the cuts to scouts in favor of analytical departments
