Been doing an awful lot of that lately, I've just kinda reached a point where I have zero-tolerance for stressors in my life and the ones that are people* can go gently caress right off.

*Except immediate family, still trying to muster the courage for that.

I cut my toxic dad out of my life probably something like 6-7 years ago at this point and haven't regretted it for a moment.

My uncle in florida is pretty quietly racist but loves old blues and full of those types of hypocrisies and I am having a harder time cutting him out because he is actually at least somewhat loving and supportive. But since I went for Christmas in 2018 and really saw his whole rear end show I have drastically reduced communication to maybe 1 or 2 calls a year and feel much better for it!

He then replaced his front door with a get up like an old 60s squared robot with like ducting for arms. Anyway he would make you say trick or treat very robotic then distribute the candy through the arms. It honestly owned so hard and was always the highlight of my childhood Halloween’s

Yeesh. Users.

Trying being a sysadmin *for* a porn company. It really desensitizes you to many things.

Well we are actually ancient so uhhhh very much not bleeding edge. And our data analytics team is atrocious and mostly revolves around comparing to a rolling 4 week period. We've been around for 25 years, we are pretty much last to 'come' to the table with any new features or anything really. Some of the interesting correlations to like world cup matches and around holidays that you might not expect are pretty funny though. Like Christmas eve is terrible for us, but Christmas night is one of the best nights of the year revenue wise. Also new years day night.

Yeah, that’s one of many things I like about CA.

No, not really! This is not in anyway a knock on requirements or a complaint about them existing. It’s just another facet that is complicated and was delayed for a long time due to pandemic, sucks having to go take a proctored exam for my FSC in a pandemic, especially so while places that administered them were closed for months!

Guy spent more time talking bout hunting and what I had than actually doing the inspection. Tho these are Australian cops, so your mileage may vary in places where your police force is less..... professional...

Yup. As someone pointed out -- what's the difference between a million and a billion? About a billion.

Virtually none of us ever even SEE rich people. The people that you see driving Ferraris or Rolls Royces? Not rich. Maybe mega-millionaires. FIFTY NINE people in the US own over HALF of the wealth. We are all various shades of poor in comparison.

Idk I’ve seen a few rich rich people, but lol Silicon Valley. Alice’s def has gotten some of the real rich during the weekday mornings!

Seriously would y’all do that to some car weirdo who is Muslim? Anyways I go to church and I do t give a poo poo what you do or who you do it to.
I’m confused by this, do what to them? If anything talking about helping the poor and homeless and supporting social programs to lift the destitute and those in need of help seems like that would be right in line with Christian values?

Personally I do not have faith, but I hold nothing against anyone that does, of any sort of faith. As long as that faith doesn’t start infringing on other’s wellbeing and rights we are all good and that faith should be protected.

I do have a lot of issues with the institution of the church and how it has functioned throughout most of history though.

I saw Ellison once and I think he counts? But supposedly he regularly went and had some sort of semi reoccurring breakfast with his rich friends.

FWIW it’s been great all quarantine for me, but I live 4 miles down Saratoga from the start of 9 so it’s my go to. I actually stopped to eat the last couple times I’ve gone, including just this past Saturday morning! And the restaurant itself did a pretty satisfactory job to me along with all the customers actually eating. They spread picnic tables out all across their lawn and it’s a buzzer to go get your food so no like waited on service besides coffee refills. I don’t hang out by the liquor store side though and there are usually less masks over that way.

So I know this definitely isn’t how it is, and both are getting terrible food, but treating our prison population better is definitely something that should be done! Should have good healthy food for both of those groups! (Also neither should be billed for it!)

I think you can just do your jail time at weekends so it doesn't get in the way of your job.

Speaking of prison/jail as choices, I am on court record saying I would have rather gone to jail for a week than be on the jury I was on. Also in general jail is a lot worse than prison because it’s a much more temporary facility.

GM is pretty serious about this thing.
4-wheel independent suspension - good for ground clearance, 4-wheel steering. Crab mode! Air suspension with a lift mode. Underbody crawling cameras.
It's not any uglier than any other modern pickup, really (not saying much...) and reminds me of an enclosed Halo Warthog.
Price is whoo-boy, but it is a pile of neat stuff.

The goons hand wringing over how dangerous it is to pedestrians over in the EV thread is... interesting. I suppose it's telling that the EV thread *isn't* in automotive insanity.

Wait are there other EV threads outside AI? I don't follow the one here since I kind of don't care about EVs but I assumed that would be 'the EV thread'
