Being lost or unable to find a simple address. We had a dude coming to pick up a table and he was like 'I don't have navigation' and it was like hearing someone's house didn't have power or indoor plumbing or something.

Trying to spot pixelated nudity on a scrambled channel because your parents were to cheap to spring for premium channels

Our cableco broadcast a channel overview channel showing all the channels at once in tiny squares and they included the pay channel that'd just be airing hardcore porn any time after midnight, no idea how they got away with that but it was very welcome among the teenage boy demographic.

The white balance on my photos came out kind of sickly green, I can either teach myself chemistry and build a small laboratory in my home or just have my family's precious memories look like Fallout 3 forever.

Remember Divix? Not the codec but the actual players. There were DVD players but with Divix movies, you paid less and the disk would only let you watch the content 5-10 times and then never play again. Why yes, it did fail. Why yes, Circuit City was heavily invested in it. And yes, they went out business. That's how I get a DVD player for $100 in 1998 because they were basically giving them away.

The only reason I remember that is Penny Arcade had a Divx player as a character for a while. The codec was known as DivX ;-) originally, specifically as a jab at Divx-the-DRM-DVD-system.
