Morey also met with Rivers on Sunday, sources tell NBC Sports Philadelphia, discussing their vision and how they would move forward together.

I’m told that Morey and Rivers, who previously worked together with the Boston Celtics, are very much aligned on the future of the organization and that there will be more changes coming with the team. What those changes could be, of course, remains to be seen.

i mean the westbrook trade was Bad but that wasnt really up to him. the rockets were arguably the 2nd best team in the NBA for the past half decade

Seems more like Fertita ran them into a horrible situation and is a lovely boss.

Also, Harden is still on the Rockets. It's not lot Houston lost all their draft picks and their best player.

The Rockets have the second highest winning percentage in the league since Morey took over

As a Pelican fan, this is like the first Jrue trade I have been ok with. Obviously the Sixers would never do that trade.

Driving. He does get some leeway on defense, but gets hit, hacked, and pushed constantly on his drives with only the rare whistle.

He'd be good for them! I really want to see Zach somewhere where he's a secondary option instead of the guy expected to carry the entire offense, I think he could actually be a really good piece for a contender.

Well duh but if you get a chance to turn LaVine into Butler you do that. Thats the exact swing-the-bat type of thing smaller markets need to do.

Whenever I see similar words in a similar order, my brain is immediately "I wonder how he'd fit in Dallas", and to be honest, I don't think I want to go through the Lavine experience right now. Though there's always a certain floor I expect Carlisle to get whatever guys to, so it's probably not actually a thing I should worry about.

I'm also the guy that only half-jokingly told someone that they should bring in Portis as an enforcer, so maybe don't listen to me. (But listen to me, he'd obviously be way more outnumbered by Euros here, so it's fine).

When I think of Swing-the-Bat moves to do for small markets, signing a disappointing high draft pick like Wiggins after saying "please don't make this look like a bad move" is pretty much my anti-model. That it also caused strife with Jimmy makes it a double-negative.

Morey wanted to stand pat with CP3, the Westbrook trade was pressure from Harden and the ownership. Fertitta and his mouthpieces at the Chronicle are hollering about Dorky Daryl's betrayal, but they're not gonna file a grievance or a lawsuit, because the bullshit cover story was covering that Feritta wanted Morey out. My guess is he probably waived any non-compete provisions and settled on a "mutually agreed" story in exchange for not paying a buyout, because he's a broke-rear end billionaire, and is desperate to get that China money flowing again for the same reason. All his money is tied up in restaurants and casinos and he's gonna be grabbing the Olajuwon jerseys from the rafters to put on eBay if the pandemic doesn't recede.

A city that was to live by night after the wilderness had passed. A city that was to forge out of steel and blood-red neon its own peculiar wilderness.
Zach Lavine is a real good player right now.

His defense isn't great, but also he could be hidden with a good defensive system. And his offensive output and efficiency is really loving good. Considering he is the only offensive option on the team until late when Coby got given some of the keys. And teams know he is the only person on the team to worry about.

On this Bulls team he's not a winning player because they are literally a injured trashfire with what was a terrible front office and coach.

Watching that dude play though he would be a very good 2nd option and an amazing 3rd option on a championship team that needs another ball handler.

The Nuggets actually did improve when they shipped off Andre Miller for AI but they improved even more when they shipped off AI for Chauncey. I was so happy when we got AI cause he was my favorite non-Nuggets player. The team was great fun imo. It didn't work between him and Melo I guess but then like 18 months later Melo wanted out too.
