I'm not sure how since A New Hope's original rough cut supposedly had a good amount of scenes not present in the final cut?

The main deleted scenes are ones with Luke and Biggs before Luke meets the droids, Han meeting Jabba, and some extra space stuff against the Death Star.

The other editing improvements were mostly reordering scenes, tighter cutting within scenes, and using inserts / different shots to improve things (notably making the Death Star attack Yavin).

Reposting this great video in case anybody interested hasn't seen it.

You’ve gotta laugh at that after apparently the popularity of Austin Powers informed their decision to pivot to gritty with the Craig movies.

His argument (and it's backed up by a few comic book creators) is that R-Rated stuff works best when it's not being done by the exact same characters as the family friendly stuff.

It really, really cannot be emphasized enough that the Tom Hooper’s Cats Experience really needs to be felt in at least a semi-populated theater to really get it. I saw it a couple days after release in a reasonably full theater and between someone actively saying “what the gently caress?” at Dench’s bit at the ending, some teens in the row ahead clearly having taken some kind of hallucinogen and getting way more than they bargained for, and the just general shared psychic damage of moments like Jason derulo doing Foot Stuff against our consent, it really elevates it above watching it yourself in a controlled environment.

Yeah this was in a lounge room on a relatively small screen (which probably ameliorated a bit of the uncanny valley) with two people who have seen far more musical theatre than I have.

It came across as weird and bad, but more weird than bad.

You can learn so much from fan fiction that you can use for original works.

You don’t have to create a setting or characters but you do have to develop them and push them so you can learn structure, character development and growth, as well as pushing the property in a way that feels exciting.

It's especially funny when several of her published works are openly "inspired by" or are "retellings of" other works.
