I like many things about the latest watch_dogs, but the decision to go with generic dollar store characters is a massive bummer, because now none of your dudes have any kind of personality or character. Such a huge disappointment especially after watch_dogs_2 where the main characters were really fun and entertaining. Here we just get poo poo sarcastic AI guy and mumbly video lady.

I also find it really weird that people with 3080's are rage quitting the game because it's not running well. You have the best card available, you turn down a few settings and enjoy your 60fps. It's not preferable, but if you're that pissed off, you must really want to play the game, so tweak. Or don't, it's up to you, but it's strange to deprive yourself of something you want just because everything doesn't say "Ultra" in the settings.

I had a 1080ti when they were new and this would happen occasionally to me. It's not the end of the world.
They didn't spend obscene amounts of money to turn down settings a notch or two! Gotta have those RAY TRACE!!!!

I only have a 2060S and am getting average 85 FPS (65 FPS with DLSS off, or 65 FPS with DLSS on but raytraced reflections on) on the benchmark @ 1440p but not max settings - between High and Very High. I went through the settings and it was very hard to tell any difference for many of the settings between High and Ultra (in terms of visual quality).
I don't uninstall the game if it dips down below 60. Absolutely agree that for the graphical fidelity, this should have no issue on a 3080/3090 (if it can run on a PS4, but assuming this is somewhere around Medium preset) but who knows if they'll fix it.

Wish they let you do more with the random characters, like train skills or something. Send them away for x ETO and in game time, get them back with a new skill.

Also, not liking the GTA-style "ok even though you drove away from the gang's hideout (where you basically KO'd every single person) and weren't followed, as soon as you get out of the car, a scripted event triggers that spawns a bunch of bad guys and riot drones on top of you, if you die, the mission fails and get a thumbs down from that person" poo poo. I was out of the car and on top of a rooftop before they spawned, and they all still knew exactly where I was.

Two questions: can I just find random John Wick guys like the one from the intro or is that one of those 'guys with this trait are gated behind the plot' deals, and can I change time of day manually? In WD2 you could by sleeping on a couch in a hideout (I dont think the game ever tells you this) but then in Far Cry 5 you just...couldn't for no discernible reason. Since this game is missing some serious QoL features like an on-foot audio player I wondered if they skipped that one too.

You can find spies hanging out in an alley next to the MI5 building sometimes, and professional hitmen in an alley near Brewer St Station. They spawn fairly regularly so you can even farm for a good one.

Haven't found a way to advance time yet, I don't think it's an option.

Kind of a roundabout way but if you deep dive someone and go to their schedule and pick something, you can travel to that location and skip to that time.

I think the map's pretty good. Yeah theres a lot of compressions but some of it is spot on. My office is in the game (as a VR porn shop).

Holborn isn't accurate but then Holborn's boring. Angel looks like poo poo. And if they want Orwellian late-capitalist horror they should have extended the map a bit east to include the docklands/canary wharf/Stratford over-designed shopping/banking complex mess that's pretty dystopian irl.

Speaking of characters, I think I just recruited an analogue for Faith from Mirror's Edge...? The resemblance is pretty close, and she's a courier and she's got the eye tattoo. She donates to right wing political groups though :smith:

Do you mean without pressing the Hack button (not the quick hack button!) and just have it show profiling info by default like the first 2 games? Because... no. You gotta smash the button. Mine's on a mouse button.

No allegedly thats been fixed.

Does anyone else have a generic white mission marker just outside of the safe house? Its on my map but when I walk up to it its just some graffiti on a wall and theres no prompt to interact with it or start a mission. Im guessing its just some glitch.

On the wall of the park opposite? Thats supposed to be the Bare Knuckle League mission, where you can not talk about fight club and maybe recruit some fighters if you beat them. It should be interactable.

I still haven't had any crashes on PS4 but I did have a pretty funny bug when I was supposed to recruit a construction worker but did it before I was prompted to and was already playing as him so in the cutscene where he reluctantly joins he is talking to a clone of himself except one had his normal generic white British guy voice and the other inexplicably now had a Jamaican accent

Is there any way to scoop up guns off the ground? I'm trying to destroy some crate to recruit an explosives expert but there's no interact to break it, melee doesn't hit it, and my default stun pistol does nothing. Come to think of it, where DO I get guns? I see all the dedsec specials for nonlethal but sometimes you just wanna spray lead into the opposition.

No, but consider hijacking any kind of offensive drone, you'll be able to shoot with that.

Also, I have a new favourite way to take someone out. Picking up cargo with a cargo drone and literally dropping it from 60 feet up on their head. Probably not non-lethal, but,

You've got to know the rules before you can break 'em. Otherwise, it's no fun.

Okay, apparently I learned I CAN use the weapons of people I have recruited, but only after I have both recruited and actually swapped to that person to control them directly.

Now I can equip the MCX shock rifle, AK, and G36 on several of my operatives that didn't come with them. There are also a pile of my operatives that can only use the 4 guns I have researched. I have no idea why. Also apparently nail guns and silenced weapons do not become shareable this way.

Additionally, if you use a spider drone a lot watch out, because the game can change it's own rules and gently caress you silly. I just lost an agent because while sitting outside and across the street from a red zone, my spider bot started wiping files on a server. This triggered an alarm which made bad guys just shoot me dead while I was controlling my spider bot.

EDIT: Wait, it looks like weapons that are not listed as "Unique weapon" works this way, but not for all agents. I'm not 100% sure but it looks like you can change to a non standard weapon only if the operative came with a non lethal weapon? Basically only the rear end in a top hat characters I recruited that had a lethal gun as a listed perk can be given lethal guns. That looks like it may be what's up.

EDIT2: It's apparently even dumber than that. Characters with a lethal pistol perk can switch to a different lethal pistol but not a lethal rifle. Likewise characters with a lethal rifle can switch to another lethal rifle you have unlocked but not a lethal pistol like the Desert Eagle or M9. What even the gently caress here?!
