Was just watching CNN while I ate my lunch. Trump was speaking in Arlington at the RNC. He was noticeably more calm and lucid, letting on it was a close race and that the thought of losing was difficult on him. He talked about all just accomplishments and threw in a China virus for good measure. It was surprisingly timid given they’ve been saying he was going to declare victory early.

Pinellas County Florida looks like it’s flipping Biden. 55-42 with 75% of the vote in. He won by 6% in 2016. The entire state is close without Broward or Dade tallied.

Florida ain't good. Miami-Dade early vote was hot garbo, and Donnie got a lot more votes there than 2016. Looking like an early repeat of 2018 where Florida freaks everyone out and we're waiting on everything else.

Consume your beverages and/or illicit substances if you need calm :)

They haven’t counted vbm in Dade, just in person early voting. He’s also out preforming everywhere else and had a 2% lead according to Reuters. Florida is a garbage state but it doesn’t seem like it’s over.

Seems like the senate might actually be in play? Hearing it might be 48-48 now. If Ossoff wins his runoff in Jan, could make senate a +1 Dem majority.

I thought Ossoff was down by 100k to Perdue right now. Loeffler-Warnock is the run off in January.

I hope that this doesn’t become a legal thing. I think there are too many states to flip so it’s less likely the vote is stolen, but 2020 is a cruel mistress.

Cult of personality.

This is my take away too. I think it’s naive to say anything beyond this because Biden flipped a lot of counties he was supposed to, Trump just cut leads in Miami Dade and the like.

I think dems should definitely push left, especially in cities, then push worker rights, infrastructure, and health care in conservative areas. I think pushing too far in rural areas works against them, but if they keep it local while still being progressive it can work I think.

Let NY go after him. He’s committed enough crimes before he was President. Biden doesn’t need to go after him directly, just open doors and files to cooperate with their investigations. NY can do the heavy lifting and the President Elect can say “states rights.”

Super weird that something as seemingly benign as having a pet speaks a lot about a person. I’ve met plenty of people who don’t have pets because their lifestyle makes it unfair to the pet, but what kind of psycho doesn’t at least want a dog or cat? My wife and I have to talk each other down from getting more pets because we already have two dogs and two cats. At least once a month on of us sees a stray that we want to take in and the other has to talk logic that we can’t afford it, or it wouldn’t be fair to the other pets we already have.

I saw the Clyburn interview. It wasn’t that he said defund the police is dumb, just that it’s not branded well. This is something we’ve all said when it comes Dem messaging. The question remains should we really care what Suzy soccer mom thinks or if we should just rebrand then intent, accountability in policing.

Here’s a bs argument floating around chud groups on Twitter. Manipulation of statistics to make it seems there is legitimate fraud. The account has a lot of cherry picked or falsified statistics to “prove” their side, with a health dose of “dems compromised by China” and “Hunter Biden’s laptop!”

Do you think that they rush printed the graphics or is there a HARRIS–SHAPIRO banner out there that’s about to become shop rags?

I’m guessing a mad rush. I heard an interview with Jake Tapper and some VP Harris surrogate about the decision. Apparently in the interview for VP, Shapiro was making demands and I quote “giving off main character energy” to the point that Harris was turned off. Walz apparently was just saying he’d love to do good for the country with her. Seems like Shapiro doesn’t know how to turn off his ambition and play second fiddle. He must have missed that upgrade in the Democratic position factory, since even Buttigeig can play support.

I feel like the districting should be left to math nerds and if it survives peer review, there's your map.

NC tried that at one point. My grad school advisor was one of the key witnesses for the NC Supreme Court case for their first two overturned maps. They just ran a simple Monte Carlo simulation and shows that the 3/1 GOP advantage was completely impossible if done randomly. The map they proposed was shot down because there was bipartisan push back to letting an algorithm choose the boundaries.

He told NewsNation that what he was referring to in his post by “stories” were from their childhood.

Which of course has literally nothing to do Governor Walz’s character

”Jeff Walz” posted:

Exactly the kind of nothingburger I’d expect from his chud brother.

Almost all of the girls I went to grad school with were Chinese or Indian. All the Chinese girls renamed themselves, some took normal names like Emma, or Jaqueline, others more unique names like Yolonda, or Estrella, but quite a few names themselves random objects or male names, like Echo, Bench, Alan, and Stephen. At first I thought the super weird names were them just trying to get close to an English word since some of the girls had fairly similar given names to their chosen American names (Han to Hannah, Jingwin yo Jaqueline), but no they were completely random.

The Indian girls didn’t give a gently caress and kept their given names and would kindly tell you you’re an idiot if you couldn’t pronounce it.

I know this is a page back, but I just read something similar along these lines https://bad-faith-times.ghost.io/you-are-being-manipulated-by-bad-faith-pollsters/

Basically if you only look at legitimate pollsters it looks good for Harris, but in the last few weeks Trumps gone up 4 points without doing anything of consequence to bolster that sort of swing, and potentially outright done things that should have it being pushed the other way.

As Election Nears, Kelly Warns Trump Would Rule Like a Dictator

John Kelly, the Trump White House’s longest-serving chief of staff, said that he believed that Donald Trump met the definition of a fascist.

https://x.com/KamalaHQ/status/1848903004960780553

I watched a couple of Trump Surrogates(David Urban and Scott Jennings) try to handle this on Abby Phillip on CNN last night. David Urban tried to basically say it’s not true, then Abby asked him if he though GEN Kelly was a liar, to which he back tracked and tried to say the Trump he knows loves the military and freedom. To show this he told a story about how Trump missed the wreath laying on Memorial Day at Arlington because it was raining and the traffic was bad so it was basically impossible to get there… but GEN Kelly went and this surrogate went with him and they drank a shot next to Kelly’s son grave. It made no sense.

Scott Jennings went straight into whataboutism on how Biden failed at the Afghanistan Withdrawal, and how everyone is always picking on Trump, and multiple people called him out, including the guy who runs the Independent Veterans of America, rightfully saying, loving up Afghanistan is very different that being an open fascist, so of course he just got louder and more unhinged.

I wish I knew these pieces of poo poo wouldn’t be getting the attention but here we are.

I know Texas isn’t in play, but I’m sure he’s going to bed mad about the optic at his genius at to upstage Beyonce.
