If any of the scenarios below describe your situation, the IRS still may owe you a first (Covid era) stimulus check
So if you think you might qualify, read the following article promptly and carefully to be sure, and if it looks like you're eligible and you want to apply, jump through the (online) hoops described promptly: https://www.cnet.com/personal-finan..._eid=a5a4c2601c The deadline is around noon this Saturday 21 Nov (U.S. time) so be quick! I'm not American but I'm posting this as a service to American GBSers, since I stumbled on the article this week. I can't give any further advice, but if anyone wants to post silly comments feel free, as that would help this thread not quickly disappear into page 10 or whatever obscurity, and some lucky goon(s) might score a stimulus check they might otherwise have missed. no why did you do this to me now i have a real risk of having a goon caller instead of an imagined one i won't be able to assist them if they recognize me and they'll probably try to make dozens of stairs jokes while i refer them to somebody else you're a monster

I got this call yesterday, except instead of the IRS it was the Social Security Administration, and instead of a check they wanted to give me criminal charges.
