Someone get me excited for Zhaire Williams or Jalen Johnson for the Kings at 9 or 10

I know Vlade is garbage but if any of you wonder how Luka fell a new Yahoo mock draft has Jalen Green #1

I'm looking at these Big Boards posted by guys like Sam Vecenie and KOC and Davion Mitchell top 10 pick is picking up steam?

WhyteRyce
Dec 30, 2001

Alperen and Davion shooting into the top 10 is great because that means the Kings have a decent shot at Moody, Barnes, or Keon Johnson

We have entered the next stage of the draft

The "Williams went #4 and Barnes is better" thing seems a bit disingenuous because last year's draft was kind of a free fall after the top 3 with the next tier of prospects all being eye of the beholder types. This one has had a pretty solid top 5 for some time

Keon Johnson being only 6'3" has to hurt him right?

Wiseman doesn’t even seem like that bad of a prospect, the Warriors were just chasing the play-in

The Warriors just got caught trying to have their cake and eat it too. You don't take that raw prospect to act as your bridge to the future and then get scared of playing him when he looks raw and not ready

If they wouldn't have messed with his confidence by yanking him it might not look as bad right now

That was regarded as a weak draft after Griffin and Rubio was a weird question mark. So talking yourself into someone that could theoretically do one thing at an elite level was easy to do. This was still 2009 and a Mutumbo clone still had value

I guess he just has the longest load time in the world because this does not show up in his play at all imo

I remember when Kevin Love outjumped Darrell Arthur at the Combine and blew my mind

Why is there not more Moody/GS buzz. He seems perfect for what they need

WhyteRyce
Dec 30, 2001

After Vlade got kicked to the curb there aren't a whole lot of blatantly stupid GMs around. Last year despite all the speculation, no one really paid a premium to move up, no one undervalued having a higher pick, and outside of Phoenix reaching on someone there weren't a ton of swerves in the lottery

I honestly don’t see how a whole lot of late first round picks nets you a star unless that star is DeMar DeRozan or OKC’s reclamation project of the season. Even including the 10th that’s not a great return for a star

Package in Ingram then you’ve got something compelling

The Kings are among the NBA teams evaluating Williams’ game as the July 29 draft draws near. A league source told The Sacramento Bee that Williams participated in a pre-draft workout Wednesday in Sacramento, giving the Kings an opportunity to assess his upside as a pro prospect.

2 guys in the top 5/6 mocks considering the NCAA still had their tournament while the G-League had their entire plan turned upside down is pretty good
