"Now, where was I?"

You open your eyes to the sight of snow and dirt. You feel nauseous, and dazed. Time feels slow, then fast, then slow. You have no memory of who you are, and as you raise your head, you see a huge Dragon in front of you.



"Halt", you say, while meekly stepping back. Your words give him pause for a second. The Dragon seems cautious, which is good, but he is still nevertheless walking around you, menacingly.

"Are you for real? This is what I wake up from an amnesia to?"



Your left hand is laid bare. In your right hand you are holding an ornamented spear, and around it petals spring to life only to disappear again, phasing in and out of existence. You are unsure how your actions might play out, but there's only one way to find out.

A) ATTACK WITH YOUR SPEAR - Hits Enemy for 150 - 250 Damage.
B) BLOCK WITH YOUR SPEAR - Reduces incoming Hit Damage by 60.
C) PARRY WITH YOUR SPEAR - 40% chance to negate incoming Hit Damage.
D) DEFEND WITH YOUR BARE HANDS - Reduces incoming Damage by 30% - 60%.
E) TRY TO PROJECT SOME OFFENSIVE SPELL - Unknown.
F) TRY TO PROJECT SOME DEFENSIVE SPELL - Unknown.

You lunge with tremendous speed at the Dragon, hitting its face with your spear. Although you're sure the cut was deep, there is no blood. Almost simultaneously, you unleash a ball of shining light from your left hand. You can feel something - like some part of your soul is being poured into that very energy. Looking at your left hand, there seems to be a magic fabric flowing out of it.

You marvel at the ethereal veil leaving your arm. For a moment you feel invincible.

Startled by the symbols showing in front of you, you find yourself unable to react to the Dragon's headbutt. For a split second you think you are gonna die - instead, you are tossed back a fair distance feeling just a dull pain in your chest. Surprisingly, you're still on your feet.

Arceles: Okay. Crash course. You are Sophia, I am Arceles, your Helm. You are fighting a Dragon, and he must have hit you with a spell to erase your memory. You can talk to me by thinking. How much do you remember?
Sophia: Nothing. Am I supposed to be able to read this stuff on my screen?
Arceles sighs audibly, despite being just a voice in your head and, you presume, having no need to do so.

The Dragon attempts to hit you with its tail, but you dodge instinctively.

Arceles: I'm checking the log. It appears he previously hit you with a magic breath. Oh wow. It was a spellbreaking magic, it completely destroyed your enchantments, minus the blessings of your Goddess. Luckily, I'm not magic, technically.
Sophia: If he just blew up my enchantments and my memory, why is he weary? I thought he was gonna eat me just now.
Arceles: That must be the defense mechanism in case I'm deactivated in combat, which I was. He must have taken a huge explosion to the face.
Sophia: Oh. Okay... that seems dangerous.
Arceles: There are still some remnants of the Dragon's breath in you. 21 atoms of Carbon, 30 of Hydrogen, 2 of Oxygen... sigh. What a pain. I'm gonna attempt to repair your brain on the go, Priestess.

Sophia: I'm a Priestess?
Arceles: So to speak, but most people alive refer to you by the title of Dragonslayer.
Sophia: That makes me feel a lot more comfortable given the current situation.

As you walk around pondering why the Dragon hasn't made a move yet, you notice that time for you flows very slowly. Everything is almost standing still.

Sophia: Can you give me a summary of... I don't know. What do I need to know?
Arceles: You use a technique of alternating Attacks and Spells with each arm to gain momentum. Also, your Attacks cannot miss.
Sophia: How so?
Arceles: Everyone is attuned to an Element, such as Fire, Water, and so on. You are attuned to Time itself. The way this manifests in you is that you can feel whether your actions will connect or not.
Arceles: Unfortunately, this means that foes who can mess with your mind, such as this one, have a bit of an advantage.

Sophia: So is this foe particularly hard?
Arceles: He shouldn't be. You should be halfway done with it.
Sophia: Well, then.



Sophia: Let's give this a try.

The aura around your spear darkens, leaving behind trails of teal and azure. As you hit the Dragon's chest, you have a vision of the sky turning black, and the overcast gives way to a black sun with a golden crown.

The impact against your foe's outer layer is so strong that you feel like your spear is going to break, but it doesn't. The armored carapace gives way to your attack, and the collision sends a shockwave so strong that you hear the sound barrier breaking. Beneath you there's now a huge crater.

Sophia: What just happened? How did I...? Was that me?
Arceles: There are many souls inside you, Priestess. You can channel them for different purposes. That just now was one of them.
Sophia: I don't understand what you mean. Are those souls bound to me?
Arceles: They exist inside you, but they also exist beyond our notion of Time and Space. You can influence them, but they can also influence you. You willingly accepted that in order to channel their power.

The Dragon is backing off, recovering. A small layer made of hardened minerals is formed over his wound. You look at you and you see the same armor covering your body, although you do not remember casting it.

Sophia: I don't understand how it's still alive after that. And you implied that this Dragon is weak.
Arceles: It depends. It is the weakest of the 6 Dragons left, yes, but it is definitely stronger than most of the previous 82 that you have slain.
Sophia: Whaaa-at?

Arceles: Some would you see you that way.
Sophia: I am wondering why I am killing this thing right here in front of me. Do I have some vendetta against Dragons? Did they kill my mother or something?

Arceles: No, that did not happen.

Arceles: Focus on your next steps for now, Priestess.

D2) SHADOW DANCE - You have a 30% Chance to Dodge Attacks and Spells. Lasts 3 Rounds.

H1) GOLDWOVEN SHELL - Permanently reduces damage taken by 30 for the rest of the Combat.

Turn 2:
E2) DEFEND - Reduces Incoming Damage by 30% - 60%.
F2) TETRA LIGHT NOVA - Deals 4 times 60 to 120 Damage.
G2) DIVINE OBLIVION - Deals 300 Damage to All Entities.
H2) AEGIS OF THE VETERAN - Adds a Shield that blocks ([Played Time in Hours] / 12) Damage next Round. Any source of Played Time counts as long as it's yours - /played in MMOs, Played Time on Steam, etc, as long as it is from a single source/game/character.
