You can stop and wait out rain or darkness. You can't change not wearing a seatbelt in an accident. :colbert:

A seatbelt is why my dad is alive today, and he got the massive cross-chest bruise to prove it.

He got better.

I like Aquapel even more, but it's hard to find, and now there are a ton of fakes on Amazon. RainX does seem to work better at slightly lower speeds though (anecdotally) but highway speeds Aquapel seems better and lasts longer. Either way I think where I live they should have mandatory wiper and tire standards and have it be subsidized -- I think it'd be cheaper than cleaning up accidents. But socialism, are freedom, etc

Rain x and wipers are fully useless without windshields.

And windshields are a bigger liability than no windshields if you ain't got safety glass :colbert:

My cousin t-boned a modernish Toyota while doing over 100km/h. Driver's side impact, sent the vehicle several hundred feet away into the bush.

Airbags saved the driver. I'm not gonna deny that seatbelts save lives, because a seatbelt saved my cousin in the same accident, but airbags work miracles.

You need both though. Ultimately the ultimate safety device is tires. Without them you can't do anything :P

It is by caffeine alone I set my bike in motion. It is by the juice of Java that pedaling acquires speed, the teeth acquire stains, stains become a warning. It is by caffeine alone I set my bike in motion.
A college friend of mine got rear ended by a drunk going 60mph apparently, this was in 1980 or so.

Luckily he had his dad’s ‘75 (or so) Caddy Fleetwood and for some reason it had airbags (his dad was a VIP of sorts).

Walked away from that.

Sadly he died a a few years ago from a very botched operation.

You could order Caddys with airbags for 75 and 76 (driver's and passenger side).
