See, this is why I love y'all. I learned something, today.

Ruby Gloom posted:plus those people are all just riled up on cheese 24/7 I've come to find that WI is famous for cheese not because of its quality but the quantity. Funny enough, I moved away from there into Oregon and ended up living next to where the world's best cheese is made. No, like Rogue actually won that award: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/01/dining/best-cheese-rogue-river-blue.html tl;dr I can't escape living around the cheese. EDIT: BUT! BUT, if you're in Wisconsin, don't pass up the Mousehouse Cheesehaus. Catastrophe fucked around with this message at 17:26 on Nov 16, 2025 |

Anderson Koopa posted:drat. That looks really cool. What other dishes were there? There was a goose, a large fish of some sort, and a bunch of vegetable and tofu dishes. I had a few drinks of some sort of powerful Chinese booze. If I go again I’d show up earlier to see them pull the lamb out of the hole in the ground. Really I’d just like to watch them cook all of it

It's a Thing. I'm not a sports person, or at least not a football person (does Battlebots count? Starcraft? Fencing?) but growing up my dad bought shares of the team when they were on sale, and bought one in my name even though I was like six. They're not like normal stock shares, we don't get voting rights, dividends, they can't be sold or traded, and stock only goes up for sale when the team needs money to fundraise, which has only happened a handful of times. The company is a non-profit and there is a maximum amount of stock any individual is allowed to hold. So in the end, yeah, I don't watch any of their games, it doesn't form a core part of my identity or anything, but I do think it's kind of cool and have respect for the team and community for it, and I think that the team has earned the respect of its fans and of people in the area a lot more than most sports teams do.
