I honest-to-god thought he had already died so I was bracing myself for the news that James Earl Jones was no longer with us. Though James Earl Jones was in other iconic roles and was famous enough that only referring to him as "Darth Vader" instead of his name would really not do him justice to the point of being almost offensive, so I should've known better. But anyways, RIP David Prowse. He was the guy in the Darth Vader suit and that does actually mean something. You can tell just by watching Episode III and Rogue One that it was NOT the same guy in the suit, so he gave a distinct performance and left his mark on the role.

(It's not anything quite so scandalous as the quoted above but it gets pretty amusing) More directly related to the topic, Prowse and Lucas have held a grudge against each other for decades as Prowse felt Lucas was stringing him along with false hope that he might some day get to be seen on-screen as Vader unmasked, and Lucas apparently caught wind that most plot leaks to the press were coming from Prowse, and Lucas gradually distanced Prowse from any Star Wars or Lucasfilm -adjacent projects until he was essentially disowned entirely (I think he was even kept from making appearances at conventions and such) and as far as I know Prowse was bitter about it until the end.
