Well that's loving annoying. I looked it up to be sure, and... yup, Dell did something so it maxes out at 8GB. The chipset and everything else supports 16GB, no idea why they'd do that except "because Dell"

Huh. I'd heard it tended to convert to SDR, but I haven't kept up in... uh... a couple of years.

I might try and grab a 4k HDR flick and see if it'll handle directplay to the living room Roku Ultra + Samsung 4k HDR TV. Biggest issue I think I'd run into right now is my PC is on wifi with a 802.11ac USB adapter that drops a packet here and there. Or the fact that I'm running a 2nd gen i7 - I think it'd fall on its face if it had to transcode anything 4k.

neGcon supremacy! If you never saw or tried it, the face buttons are loooooong travel along with the obviously huge travel shoulder buttons. And the pad twists in the centre giving you the analogue steering. It's a very weird pad to use at first but brilliant once it clicks.

My buddy is renting a house a few blocks from mine, my wife and I actually found him the house after attending an estate sale there and talking to the owner - the house nextdoor to it is owned by the same landlord and has been undergoing a restoration (its a 20's craftsman house thats been owned by the same family for nearly 100 years) - the house has a lot of land and a bunch of quirky old outbuildings but is located on a main street... well... the house is vacant and they are having a hard time finding a new tenant because of covid, and the fact that its kinda a quirky old house - aaaaaaaand you can guess what happened, the tweakers broke locks and took up residence in the garage and a few of the out buildings. The landlord has become close with my friend and I over the time that he's been there. My friend has known that there was a tweaker living in a car on the street next to the house, but he did not know that there was such an infestation, combined with the fact that he has not stopped working - he just didn't know - Today the gardeners at the property tipped off the land lord who subsequently called me and asked if me and my friend wanted to go over there tonight and crack some skulls. Needless to say I didn't exactly jump at the chance... with all of the changes going on here in LA, trespassing, drugs and other things that homeless people do have now somewhat become legal... We spoke to a police officer friend of ours that basically said they can escort them off the property, but they cannot take them in to custody or stick around to make sure they dont just walk right back in. What loving planet are we living on? anyone up on squatters rights?

It will need new tires. I’m not a big aftermarket or size wheel guy, I am more about comfort and reliability it’s why I picked this car and engine. 15” stock rims and I love how they look but they are small by today’s standards.





What brand for a daily where quietness, comfort, safety and reliability are too concerns. This will be the family car and Florida trip highway cruiser.

Or should I go with some brand new Toyota 17/18” take offs? Thoughts?

Well gently caress, my buddy just burnt his house down. Just finished the remodel, found a leak on the shower valve and started to re-solder it. The foam tile backer board caught, went straight to the attic, and instantly spread throughout the house. 3rd degree burns from trying to put it out. Not a total loss- but the shell is gutted, all the work done needs re-done. Major setback for him.

:snobbery: I only wear vintage 1950s rayban sunglasses :/snobbery: - anyway years ago I was helping a neighbor with his modern car years ago, and I took off my glasses and set them on a part of the engine cover to where they kinda blended in - we finished up and I went home - next day I realized I had lost my glasses but didn't remember setting them down. 4 loving years later, he rings my door bell and says "these are yours" and hands me my sunglasses - apparently he had taken his car to the dealership, they found the glasses pushed up against the hood insulation in perfect shape and miraculously they returned them to him - I had already replaced them and chalked it up as a loss, when I got them back they were oily and grimey, I cleaned them up and I still wear them to this day. And if you have that one pair of special sunglasses you know how devastating loosing them can be.

Also - How many of you guys wear rings? I tried, I really did, but after a year of struggling... a lot... with it, I just got it tattooed

This is very good. Grab a set of bearings from Team FastEddy. They are cheap and will make everything better. I am currently waiting on my Tamiya Sand Scorcher re-release to ship. Should be coming in later January. I need to build something. Probably going to head out over the Christmas break to give my new Trencher crawler tires a shot that I mounted this weekend.
