I just don't think that the effectiveness of a boltgun outweighs the difficulties and complexities of manufacturing it's ammunition. It would make more sense to upscale lasguns and integrate them into the power plants of their armor.

Automatic actions are lame. All guns should be lever or bolt-action. Including pistols. Shotguns must be break-action.

Safes are to keep random people from finding your guns and blowing their or your faces off. Nothing is going to stop someone who will stop at nothing to crack it open.
