Glad to hear about the free PS5 upgrade for those of us that already own the PS4 version. It does raise a question, though:

Out of curiosity, I tried to find the PS5 release of the game in the Sony store to see if maybe it was free for me, since technically June is halfway through the month and all. I figure nah, that upgrade won't be until later, but I did wanna check either way.

Thing is, I can only find the PS4 version in the store right now. Not sure why, which is what I'm wondering. Did they not add the PS5 version back to the store, or what? Maybe it's only showing the version I own for some reason?

It's not that big a deal cause I'll just wait for the free upgrade in a few months, but I'm still super curious. Where the hell is the ps5 version in the store?

The PS5 version right now is the PS4 version, but running much better due to the memory available on the PS5 over the PS4. The proper next-gen PS5 version is coming.

EDIT: I'm assuming I am reading the question right, I have never used the PS store so I might not be understanding.

Yeah, you read it right. Thanks! I appreciate it--lets me know I'm not missing anything and will just have to wait till the free upgrade for ps4 version owners.

Thing is, for all the game's problems on launch, I still really love and enjoy it a ton. I beat it before most the patches to fix glitches came around and haven't actually seen the patches for myself, yet.

Hoping we get some of the DLC they've mentioned, too. Fingers crossed.

Edit: just curiosity, but did they ever do away with the Space Oddity painting/infinite money glitch?

What about the weird traversal one where you aim and double dash to shoot forward like 1000 feet?

Kinda torn between "yay, they fixed these bugs" and "boo, now I actually have to play the game as intended in order to make eurodollars/boo now I can't super jump like a maniac," lol.

I would have played the game without the crafting glitch but Tech is legitimately bugged and it’s functionally impossible to level up Tech, even if you exclusively use tech weapons and grenades. I had to actively cheat to unlock the best parts of my build, because after nearly 80 hours of playtime (defusing literally every mine and camera in the game!) I was still at less than half Tech!

Dev question on the subject of the game's music: Who's responsible for how the characters' themes show up in the score? Like V, Johnny, Judy, etc. all have distinct melodies that get woven into the score at parts, and there's stuff like that mission with the guy humming a particular theme that shows up later while you're talking with __Alt__. Is that just up to the composer? Does the writing team decide all of that stuff and give direction? I love scores with thematic motifs so I'm always curious how they come together.

Why format your hard drive when a game can just do it for you?

quote:

In late 1998, Bungie (which would later create the Halo series) released Myth II: Soulblighter for Windows. Myth II, a real-time tactics game, was received with great reception and highly-positive reviews.

But just before the worldwide release, a Bungie employee uninstalled version 1.0 of Myth II, and afterwards, her PC refused to reboot.

The Myth II Uninstaller worked by deleting the folder which contained the game files. However, this implementation assumed that the user installed Myth II in the default directory. (i.e. C:\Program Files\Myth II). If the user installed Myth II in a different directory, such as the system root C:\, then when the user uninstalled the game, all the files in the C drive were deleted.

As Bungie later explained in a press release:

"In certain unusual cases, using the Uninstaller can cause problems. If a user chooses an installation directory other than the default directory, they should NOT use the Uninstaller but should manually drag the Myth II folder into the Recycle bin and delete it.

Anyone who has the game but has not yet installed it is asked to wait for a new version of the Installer which we will release shortly. If you have already installed the game, there is no harm in playing it, but players should be careful not to use the Uninstall executable. If you have already Uninstalled and not experienced obvious problems, there is nothing to worry about."

I remember that one time I tried to install my legit copy of the great game Silent Storm, which at the time included the StarForce DRM on it, when those drivers installed on my system which had a newer version of Windows than was supported, they somehow borked the whole OS. I don't remember how I solved it at the time.

I guess you could say the fight at the end of the parade mission against the Arakata lady's bodyguard is similar (although it played quite differently), but that was it, right? Could've used more of those, I actually died to the hammer lady several times when I first came upon her.

He doesn't care. He just rolls with it and teases you back. Jackie really is the best character in the game. And you only interact with him for like three missions.

Totally agree! Jackie owned.

I enjoyed the gameplay of this game - I'm a sucker for perks / used-base skill systems.

I bounced off the story and the post-intro characters very, very hard. I just absolutely loving hated Keanu's character and didn't appreciate the recurring theme of, shall we say, "loss of bodily autonomy". That you essentially had a smarmy dude sneering from inside you against your will was a little much against a backdrop of snuff film rape porn.

I wish they'd spent more time making a city to parkour around and see cool poo poo and fight bandits and open doors and interact with things. I guess I wanted parkour Cyberpunk Skyrim or whatever, where I could just gently caress off and make my own story. I don't need deep side quests or a preachy main quest, just a fun world to play around in.

The intro was fun though and I would play a simpler game where you get to pal around with Jackie, and basically do jobs for the intro characters.

Well to be fair, they didn't intend the relic to be looked at that way.

Just think of V as the nagging corrupted meat brain code, that the chip is trying to correct. The instant you took that bullet to the head, is the instant the relic claimed your dead body as its own. Really, V was always and is always the tag along with the story. Which is why only johnny can walk away from the story in the body and do whatever he wants with no time limits. V either has to become part of Alt or die, cause V is the left over part the relic didn't fully correct yet.

I was pretty meh about Jackie. He was okay, but not great.

I was thinking about it, and I think that Judy was the character with the best character development in the game. She had the most complete backstory and most nuanced personality out of all the ones I can think of, and I like the voice acting for her in a game that has lots of good voice acting.

That’s so wild to me. I did all of Judy’s missions and just hated her the entire time. I felt like her weird mopey storyline just meanders and goes no where and ultimately doesn’t even accomplish what she wants or makes her happy. She’s just a miserable sad sack. Boo Judy! Poooooo-dy, I say!!!

Mostly up to the composer, who plays the game or watches recordings and picks story beats where different music events play- though I don't know much about that particular process, the music event system is kind of complex and I only have experience working on one end of it. Quest designers can also request new motifs and bits of music from the composer.

I'd go for a DLC that also does the Fallout 3 "Fine, we see how you all hated the nonsensical ending we originally had" thing and just give you a loving option that lets you keep your body with no "you're gonna die anyway or get overwritten" strings attached. There are multiple endings and if they make more CP2077 stuff you're almost certainly not gonna be playing as V so they can make whatever ending they want canon anywho. Generally the Scooby Doo super happy secret endings to these sort of games aren't the ones that get canonized anyway.
