I think Herbert got the most verbal abuse from the commentators. I’ve heard Murray call him “a tiny man”, “hopeless” and “hapless” during the same race. His career was mostly a parade of terrible performances and garbage cars, but the commentators somehow made it feel even worse

The circuits that are fun to watch and the circuits I enjoy for gaming are pretty much the same - Spa, Suzuka, Melbourne, Montreal, Spielberg, Monza... Baku is too hard for me though, even the straight fucks me over when I go really fast.

This thread inspired me to take my bike for a spin today. It’s still cold, but sunny and dry, so it was pretty good. I used to row when I was younger and I agree, rowing is the best sport. I played water polo too, but find it boring to watch today. It’s fun if you enjoy tucking your junk into super tight rubber speedos, I guess.

Companies of that size budget billions for marketing out of habit and then need to spend them. Also, Petronas has retail outlets and competes with others in the market for consumer attention. The executives probably also treat themselves to “important business trips” to Monaco or wherever when F1 is in town.

TBH Hill and Villeneuve were probably the worst two WDCs of the modern era. Hill was a bottler and a mentally weak athlete. Villeneuve was bad at everything. They won their WDCs due to a combination of Newey genius, supreme Renault power at the time, Schumacher’s teething problems at Ferrari and the sheer incompetence of the rest of the field.
