the corona quid posted:Red Bull is in the same situation Aprilia is in MotoGP. They existed purely as a cheap easy route into the top line sport but now everybody has wised up and realized your career is almost certainly hosed long term if you go with them. You get one year to prove yourself, and if you don't rise to the meet the challenge the you get discarded. Pierre is never getting another shot on the A team.

learnincurve posted:I like the part where the red bulls immediately smash into each other on the first corner on multiple occasions because neither of those two drivers will give way, ever, and it takes out a slow starting Bottas and fast starting Vettel while Lewis fucks off into the distance and onward to his 8th. Who else podiums?

FAUXTON posted:https://www.carandbike.com/news/f1-lewis-hamilton-reportedly-rejects-mercedes-contract-2347385 I think I read somewhere that the spending cap includes driver salaries. That means if you spend 40 million on Hamilton versus 5 million on Russell you actually lose 35 million dollars of car development.

Tsaedje posted:In what conceivable way is he past his prime? If anything he was more dominant this last season than ever. Contracts are about future performance, not what happened in the past. He's 36 years old and no team wants to be locked into a high dollar 4 year contract with someone that old.

Between the excessive race hosting fees and F1 demands for track improvements, the best place to hold another race in the USA is to hold a second race in Montreal.

I think we all know how the Haas story ends. Mazebin crashes four weeks in a row, Shumacher competes with the Williams drivers for last place, Gene makes noises about how they are gunning for year 202X and denies that everything is falling apart.
