I find it tends not to happen when I use the timer function so that’s mostly what I use now. The quick rice setting of 30 minutes paused at 20 minutes for at least 5 minutes. The regular setting of 50 minutes skips ahead maybe 10 minutes. I think they’re almost the same time!

I was in Iceland and sharing a guesthouse with a family from China who literally brought their rice cooker with them. They had a converter and everything. It ruled.

The bowl inside of my rice cooker appears to be Teflon, or at least some variety of nonstick coating. It cleans up very easily.
