I almost never write anything down by hand, I'm not even sure I remember how to write in cursive

as an adult I’ve made myself slow down. I’ve also forced myself to change how I write some numbers and letters. handwriting usually legible but messy and very inconsistent. biggest problem is constantly writing as fast as I can. forced myself to slow down. I think there’s some unconscious push to write fast because I think faster than I write and don’t want to lose train of thought or something like that. i’ve also now got a couple fountain pens. yes I’m one of those people. no fancy inks yet just like having a wide tip lol

fart simpson posted:i lost my nice fountain pen and now i only have bad fountain pen two things I like about them : the effect of a flat wide nib. calligraphy style. it looks good especially when coupled with the effect the real ink gives. it’s not a uniform colour but you can see where it’s pooled and dried and just makes life more interesting I have some fountain pens with fine tips and I’m not sure if there is any point lol.

tbh i don’t like wide tips for normal writing, it just gets in my way. i’ve never quite managed to do anything like calligraphy so i like the i think medium nibs my pens came with i like fountain pens mostly for the cool ink colours you can get and as you mention the sort of variable density it leaves behind on the paper

I used to use a fine point fountain pen in school because I have tiny handwriting and the thinner the pen is the more legible it is.
