They also closed down a fire station in the part of town that's mainly immigrants (often undocumented) and black people despite the protests of residents and fire department themselves. Guess what has happened several times in those neighborhoods since they did this? Rent and property taxes keep creeping up but I'm sure that's an everywhere thing. We've also been hit pretty hard by the opiate crisis but again that's not all that new or unique and is pretty much just Eastern Mass in a nutshell. I have some Americana that isn't depressing news about towns no one's heard of. Meet Rhode Island's Big Blue Bug. He's been around for a long time and has had a lot of looks. Here he is celebrating local with delicious drinks from Newport Creamery and Del's Lemonade.   He also likes holidays.   And what holiday is more American than Independence Day!  And he never forgets about covid safety and important social issues.
