Regrettable posted:A couple of days late on the Aesop Rock chat but I would also like to chime in and say that both The Impossible Kid and Hail Mary Mallon are great. Also, he just released a new album but I haven't had much time to listen to it yet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzSlOuR0RYk I want to love the new album but I'm not super into it yet. It's much more uneven than Impossible Kid or HMM. Some parts are fantastic, but Aesop has gotten this idea that his songs shouldn't have choruses and and as a result sometimes it sounds a bit like slam poetry. I really like that he's still trying to push the envelope and be creative, I don't think he's a guy who wants to make the same album over and over. Also, all three Lice albums are great and you should check them out OP.

I haven't posted in this thread yet, but I've been straight up grieving since NYE. I would say he is hands down my favorite rhymer. Been listening through his discography on repeat this week and I still pick up lines and double entendre that I've never quite copped or missed etc. I'm heart broken for his family. I really hope his passing was in a peaceful manner. Rest in peace MF DOOM, you will be missed on this planet.
