My roommate is watching Survivor and I wish I could get into it but it just doesn't click with me. I think it's all the strategizing and alliances; it's ridiculous and stupid and I should be all over it but it just comes off as boring high school drama. Combine that with the "survivalist" setting and it makes the show seem more manufactured. I guess I'll just stick with the 90 day fiance series even though they're just as manufactured.

What you were watching was one of the latest seasons of Before the 90 Days which is probably the best series for craziness since it's usually showing the couples either meeting or trying to meet for the first time. Like there are times when it's obvious the producers may set up situations or people playing asprcts of themselves up you just can't stop looking. If you have hulu I recommend watching it.

The latest reality show I've become addicted to is 60 Days In. Watching the participants integrate into the jailhouse politics is interesting and the overall message of the show seems to be that there needs to be prison reforms which makes me feel less guilty for watching. On season 4 now and there hasn't been a participant as strange as Robert.

Paramount Plus is disappointing. A lot of the old TV shows I want to watch are either missing huge portions of their library (True Life) or just not there (Upright Citizens Brigade). Plus the app is glitchy as hell. I can't see anyone who has Netflix or Hulu keeping it for longer than a month.

While Mythic Quest isn't always as laugh out loud as IASIP I do enjoy the things they're doing with the characters. I wish it was on Hulu or Netflix or Prime because it's a great show that feels like it's not getting the acknowledgement it deserves because it's on AppleTv. Maybe being there is helping it out though.

This weekend I got addicted to and finished the HBO reality show FBoy Island and since I can't find a general trashy reality tv show thread I'm going to share my thoughts here quickly. The concept of the show is that 3 women are on an island with 24 men half of which are nice guys and the other half self-proclaimed f-boys. Despite the fact that the show is on HBO and they can pretty much say whatever they want to the still say f-boy instead of gently caress boy which is a little charming. It's a classic dating show where the guys are vying for the affection of one of the 3 girls but if the girl chooses an f-boy he has the chance to reject her for a cash prize. As you watch the show, you can tell when the producers put their hand on the scale to try to keep the show in track with the premise. If like reality dating shows I recommend it but I will say that some of the episodes drag and could be trimmed a little more and Nikki Glaser needs a little work as a host. Midnight Mass should be called Monologue Mass but Mike Flanagans Netflix horror series have always been like that so it's not unexpected. I'm on the last episode and I hope it gets crazy but if not it'd still be a nice atmospheric series for the season.

Dave Chapelle could have trimmed the fat off this latest special. The last special felt the same so I hope that he sticks to his word and stops for a while. It's one of those comedy specials where it's more applause than laughter from the crowd if that helps.

Yeah, the transphobic stuff could have been cut. At this point though he's so rich and successful that the only way he'd stop is if he got bored of doing them. Some jokes in general just went on a little too long.

I just found out tubi has original programing and one of those programs is an animated show about 3 stoners from the 60s and their cat waking up from a magically induced weed coma in 2020 that stars John Goodman, Woody Harrelson, Tiffany Haddish, and Pete Davidson called The Freek Brothers.

The directing in the live action Bebop is awkward in a lot of places where it looks like it's following animation scene direction if that makes sense. It definitely takes some getting used to and the moody jazz contrast with the brightly lit scenes. Only on the fifth episode so far.
