https://youtu.be/8SKt9eOEHXA This isn’t their best sketch but it’s a good example of their energy: they were really good at channeling that weird little boy mindset into creativity. It makes 1000% sense that Moore was making shows on Disney XD, he can channel their exact audience so well There was a comment in the AV Club article from a guy who loved WKUK when they were in their prime and had a laugh when he realized a few months ago that his son’s favorite show was made by the same guy. He had an adolescent spirit and made a living proudly following it edit: this sketch is just really funny https://youtu.be/E_zv_i9Gfe8

God it’s so weird to see someone else playing Bill Clinton, that man’s face has been on television for my entire life and it’s just a little surreal to see someone playing him (seriously, obviously there have been hundreds of comedic impersonations). Ditto with Hillary, they’re just so recognizable that it’s gonna take a minute or two to adjust. Rest of it looks great, Drudge and Coulter look perfect and I can’t wait for Eichner and McKinnon to really embrace their inner scumbag. Feldstein is a great actress and will probably kill it. I just listened to the season of Slow Burn about all of Clinton’s many scandals and it really gave me a new appreciation of what an awful shitbag Bill Clinton is so I’m really hoping this is a good enough show that his PR guy has to put out a statement condemning it

Looten Plunder posted:Whilst I'm looking forward to new ACS, I can't help but feel they stretched the definition of "Crime Story" a little far. Is lying under oath about an affair really that big of a deal? Or is there more too t than that? Clinton has been credibly accused of sexual assault a couple times by women who aren’t Lewinski and that’s gonna play a part here like it did in the 1990s But also yeah the impeachment is important because the people in charge of investigating could have nailed him down for actual crimes but were so blinded by partisan rage that they assumed that every wild hair they got was equally important. they basically created a situation where the public stopped caring about what he actually did wrong because it became a partisan position rather than an apolitical fact-finding, all thanks to Ken Starr Which is quite relevant here in 2021 because the Republicans basically took the Clinton strategy with Trump and it worked pretty well because Trump’s impeachment was viewed in a similar way. It is an incredibly American crime story.

https://twitter.com/swimpedia/status/1434305778349973505?s=21 End of an era. I grew up with everyone in my high school never shutting the gently caress up about Family Guy and AS playing it nonstop is the biggest reason why. I sort of assumed it would be on there until the heat death of the universe but Disney decided they didn’t want it playing on a rival’s channel. Bob’s Burgers is probably next, I think that contract is up in 2023. I don’t know what they’re gonna replace it with, best case scenario they just show more American Dad (which is also owned by Disney but TBS is the one keeping it running so I imagine they have more of a negotiation position to keep it on AS), absolute worse case is they start showing Fox animated sitcoms that *aren’t* Family Guy or BB. Is this time for the long awaited return of Allen Gregory, the worst television show I have ever watched multiple episodes of out of sheer hatred? Only time will tell

I guess maybe he just didn't like his wife vOv They met at Seth’s wedding and I spent the entire second half of the video trying to wrack my brain for how Olivia Munn and Seth Meyers would know each other and it must just be one of those things where they met randomly and became friends because they’re not in a single thing together

That’ll do it. Honestly she has really good taste in men. Mulaney is the latest but she’s also dated Forte, Aaron Rodgers and Chris Evans. And she was outspoken about Brett Ratner being a piece of poo poo and called out Shane Black for letting her be in a scene of Predators with a friend of his who is a sex offender without letting her know who he was. Olivia Munn is cool. Also Perfect Couples is good, has always been good, and now over 10 years after it aired I think everyone should go reevaluate because the cast is absolutely stacked with early 2010s sitcom mainstays

Ashton is probably done with Network TV at this point, he has other money making ventures. He could do a cameo though. Ditto Mila, except she’s just too famous at the moment for a network sitcom. Topher obviously isn’t but he won’t be any more than a cameo until his current show ends. If any other cast member would come back as a full-timer for the new show I’d imagine it would be Wilmer, although he’s also on NCIS so I don’t know how much time that leaves him. Danny Masterson obviously should stay the gently caress away and go to prison where he belongs. I was worried that Laura Prepon’s connections to the church of Scientology and Masterson would make her showing up incredibly awkward but she recently announced that she hasn’t been a Scientologist for years, which is very good and I hope she shows up at some point. She did just have a kid so I dunno if she could do it full time. I love That 70s Show, it’s the first sitcom that I really loved and as someone who grew up in the Midwest it feels a lot like home, and was one of the only sitcoms between Roseanne and The Middle that actually included people and lower-middle class families with money issues (it and Malcom in the Middle, both of which were on Fox and which otherwise could not be more different). The cast was also just full of talent, pretty much everyone except for Eric’s sister went on to have a very long and successful career. edit: also I very much want to hear a Boyz II Men cover of In The Street DC Murderverse fucked around with this message at 22:52 on Oct 8, 2021 |
