I'm into season 2 now but all I wanna do is eat some mushrooms and go to the house on a rock.

The British version is lots of "oh Gordon, we have one Michelin star but we want two!" while the US version is mostly "do you donkeys realize the food expires???" I think the Amy's Baking Company kitchen nightmares, one of the few I've seen, is peak trashy tv; and the British version is weirdly wholesome in comparison.

Meta-plot is probably the wrong term for character advancement.

Not sure if I should be ashamed it took me 4 episodes, that I got it at all, or it means the composer has a limited range. Or it means that composer has a signature style and is capable of being both familiar and different at the same time.

They need to string you along for paragraphs upon paragraphs to SEO and to make you view as many ads as possible. I use a chrome addon called sponsorblock that uses user provided time marks to skip over paid ad sections in youtube videos. So now when I'm watching Emmymade or Sam the Cooking Guy to see a recipe get made I don't have to guess how long the cringe pivot to commercial copy dialog will last. As far as online recipes that do that 'essay about why this is special to me' or whatever its about, I just try to stick to known sources and repositories. You still have to click on 'show me the rest' buttons when it shows you 1/2 the recipe and nothing else to prevent it from being shown on a search engine result; I dunno what to do about that.

I'll be over here leafing through my binder of printed and laminated recipes with no long rambling stories attached My printer stopped working because the ink cartages became 'out of date'. I probably could have found some kind of flash over-ride for that problem, but honestly, what was I printing? Sheet music? That I can read perfectly well on my monitor? Its a muti though so, in case I ever need to scan or fax something I can probably still do that. Do you need an active phone line for a fax? Probably, so never mind. If you have a non-ripoff printer that you like to use, good for you but like 90% of printers are a waste of time and money. Although, to be fair, you can print to an xps file and use that as a regular document for viewing.

I saw a Dell laser printer for $80 and decided to give it a try and I can't believe I waited that long. I've had it like 7 years and replaced the toner exactly once I think a LOT of people get their printers because they're like a free or super cheap option on their dell/hp/alienware etc order, not realizing that those super cheap printers are the ink cartage monsters.

Woodside's acting is one of the things that keeps that show from really flying off the handles. One part audience participation, one part status quo mindset, one part comic relief. And yes, I believe that since Lucifer is actually a big hit for netflix after having picked it up from broadcast cancelation, they gave it some extra budget for the final season. Its a silly concept that might have well have been "God Cop" from 30 rock but they did it their own way; I know its based off a comic book but apparently they diverged so much from that it became it's own thing.

I Claudius might be seen as having low production values vs poo poo today, but if you're consuming media made 40-50 years ago expecting modern standards you're setting yourself up for disappointment. There are plenty of tv shows that have outlasted the medium that existed at the time; just look at the crazy commercial tie-ins for the Beverly Hillbillies - cigarettes, those new fangled supermarkets, poo poo like that. The only way this could be true, at least in my thinking, is if this new-to-the-industry armorer is one of those gung-ho 2nd amendment at all costs kind of nuts; pretty sure debris in the barrel launched by a blank is how Brandon Lee died, and if so it seems unlikely they would be anywhere close to a movie set. Then again, it seems like the union guys walked off set due to recklessness about this particular gun that 'misfired' multiple times. Some fool using an actual movie property gun at the firing range with actual ammo just seems like the dumbest thing that shouldn't ever happen.

Not to mention, I feel like most of the best people in it went on to do better things anyway. Katherine Parkinson is the only one I can't remember seeing in anything since, outside an episode of Sherlock. She was in that British pirate radio movie, the Boat that Rocked or whatever the American title is(oh man, 2009, how time flies). I think most of IT Crowd holds up, except for that one episode with the trans woman. Graham Lineham is an insane person, but I still love Father Ted, Black Books, IT Crowd. I think its one of those situations where you have to separate the art from the artist.

Filming in Vancouver probably bonds the cast and crew for the shows that film there quite a bit, since they're all living out of hotels or short-term rentals and probably have no other friends or family in the area. Not sure how that situation is working in this new covid world though. Psych was absolutely the best of the "Blue Skies" programming from that era of USA; I also enjoyed Royal Pains. I'd put Eureka into that category too but it was on syfy. *edit* crew not screw, but it also applies.

Ross would be a loving paleontologist and suck it up that nobody cared because yay dinosaurs. Chandler would be mid to upper management in a dying company; like how the libertarian asshat who bought out SEARS made all the management compete against each other to the benefit of himself as the company went down the shitter. Joey would be scrambling to hold onto his soap opera job because his twitter/instagram audience is like 30% anti-vaxxer and he really needs that extra whatever from being an 'influencer' bring to keep up rent in a greenwich village apartment. Rachel would be given the waitress job much longer ala Kaley Cuoco in big bang theory; but once they find something that made sense for her they'd immediately raze the coffee shop set and we'd never see it again. Phoebe would still just be a hippy bouncing around from job to job filling in the lean parts with her massage license; or maybe she'd go full onlyfans but all her onlyfans videos would be of her cooking vegan meals because she doesn't trust youtube.
