1) Was dyeing your hair really that big of a thing back then?
2) How can there be so much drama over nothing? Not just from the teens but the parents.
3) Is this show really that accurate?

As someone that grew up in the suburbs in Michigan, I will say yes.

In middle school after a girl dyed her hair, she was taken to the principal's office and was told that she had to dye it back because it would be too big of a distraction or take a two week suspension. She came out and told everyone and a lot of people came in the next day with dyed hair. It was crazy. My best friend dyed his hair blond and his dad asked him if he was gay... I grew up in a dramedy.

I feel like if you take elements of My So Called Life, The Detroiters, and weirdly Derry Girls it may give someone a good understanding of my 90s experience.

I love the running gag of Solar Opposites going to "whatever" as a take on when it is said on The Simpsons.

It is here in which I explain the joke: you see, The Simpsons is not only the family's name (which means it makes sense to say something like "The Simpsons are going to New York!"), but it's also the show's name. So in this case, the family isn't The Solar Opposites; it's just the name of the show. I don't know why, but that made me laugh thinking about it almost every time. What a stupid joke. Idiots. It was hilarious.

The 12 hours behind thing is really dragging it down too.

My Olympic watching has been like this:

I wake up and read the news and see who won everything.
I watch the clips of people winning online.
I then wait 10-12 hours to watch NBC show that coverage in primetime with a bunch of video packages interrupting coverage.

It's very anti-climatic.

Hey, weird take! The name of the troupe is sardonic and self deprecating. They aren't proclaiming they are proud to be so white... This reminds me of a time when my buddy hated on H. Jon Benjamin because he was a pedophile. I was like, "wait what" and looked it up online. He was in sketch where he was arrested for being a perv and for some reason that had trickled down to my buddy as a real thing. People just want to hate apparently.

They went out of their way to make fun of how "white" they are:

Who knows, though. Maybe they are all secret racists! I don't know. I was just enjoying the comedy. I always saw them as the successors to Kids in the Hall. Silly parodies and social satire... I'm on the opposite side of the fence here. I've never heard anyone NOT like Whitest Kids You Know. I have seen people online that don't like it because they think the title of the troupe is weird though!

I am bummed out that he died, but I never followed what they all did after the show. I know he started as an SNL page and wanted to make his own comedy troupe. They were hot out of the gate winning some awards that landed them their IFC gig.

Here's probably the most sophomoric sketch they ever did, but at the time it made me laugh; so I will share it.

Yeah I think the last couple episodes are where I’ve finally understood why everyone loves it quite so much. Really good stuff.

I'm watching TV wrong because I've done the opposite. I think the first two episodes started out strong, but the rest have been middling. I didn't watch the latest episode, but I was so bored during the last two that I almost fell asleep.

With Survivor AU done, I think I'm out of current things to watch!

I watched 1 episode of Brad Neely's new show and... it's not funny at all! I mean, there are characters there to like, but China IL and Sclopio Peepio are two of the funniest animated shows ever made and The Harper House was weirdly tepid and boring. I'm going to give it another shot just in case it suffered from pilotitis, but it was just miserable to watch after expecting something more like his other two shows. Very disappointed.

I put on an episode of Jellystone afterwards just to get some crazy fun energy. Also Jellystone? It's a mixed bag, but if you grew up watching USA's Cartoon Express then it's going to hit home. I can't tell if it's for kids or adults. It seems more adult humor based but each episode starts off very kid friendly before it makes some sort of turn that is questionable.

Wow they are really going to finally answer who would win in a battle, the part god wizard Gandalf, who apparently can resurrect himself or Shaggy.

I would say The Marine Biologist because it's one of if not the first time the plots converge into a grand finale. They didn't know if it would work or people would think it was too stupid, but it really set how they would plot out the rest of the series.
