Plus you couldn't really take/host 4k UHD HDR video like we do now. Things were barely better than the Rodney King footage for a long time. I know this is confirmation bias, but I feel like a bunch of milestones in my like (38ish) was accompanied by these news events that everyone was watching. Gina Rodriguez was pretty blah as Velma in Scoob! And Kate Micucci's rendition in a bunch of animated Scooby-Doo films is terrible. Mindy Cohn knocked it out of the park for Mystery Incorporated. Maybe Kalling will continue the Mindy excellence.
