I distinctly remember a version of that NBC post-9/11 promo that had the unenviable task of trying to introduce a traumatized America to "Inside Schwartz." Something something "meet new friends who are ready to make you laugh" over a pensive-looking Breckin Meyer. The show was basically "Herman's Head" with a sportscasting bent. It was on right after "Friends" and was cancelled after nine weeks. Those NBC promos were the thing that convinced me we were never going to be okay again after 9/11, lol.

Alias lost me the moment they unrolled an ancient scroll and boom there’s a sketch of Jennifer Garner’s face.

It doesn't match "All in the Family," but "Happy Days" was no slouch in the spin-off department: Laverne & Shirley Mork & Mindy Blansky's Beauties Out of the Blue Joannie Loves Chachi Plus three (3) Saturday morning cartoons.

As a huge fan of both awful 80s sitcoms and stunt casting, ABC's Live in Front of a Studio Audience was a good time. If I had a billion dollars, I would commission a straight remake of Diff'rent Strokes with Kevin Hart and John Lithgow. Here's hoping they get around to doing something from the Garry Marshall-verse next time.
