HBO Max now has all the episodes of Batman:TAS .

They've added a bunch of stuff today. Also more Adult Swim stuff like everything PFFR has done for them (Xavier, Shivering Truth, The Heart, She Holler)

Edit: Although I'm not sure where they got this episode order for Batman.

Finished Alice in Borderland. I thought it was pretty fun. They did a good job of giving depth to some of the characters that could have just been one note and the mystery of what exactly is going on is fun. Mixed feelings on the trans representation though. The character is totally a badass and I thought they handled the characterization well but they didn't actually get a trans actress for the part, which is disappointing.

Its like a weird thing because they introduce the game classifications but only seem to care about Hearts because the game in ep 4 is supposed to be wits, not physical but they don't think of that at all.

I forgot Avenue 5 even existed, it seems like it's been ages since it came out. Are we getting another season of it or did it get cancelled?

It got renewed but production was probably slowed by the pandemic. Like I saw an article about how Doom Patrol was just now going into production for s3 even though it was renewed months ago.

So I know Stuart D Baker (Unknown Hinson) showed himself to be an rear end in a top hat but I've been rewatching Squidbillies on HBO Max and it still holds up. Although something weird I've noticed is that earlier seasons censor swears but starting in season 7 they stop. The first time Rusty says gently caress I wasn't sure I heard it right.

One thing that's probably confusing to people who are just coming to the series now is how after a certain point the characters start using "Cheyenne Cinnamon" merchandise which was from a failed pilot for an Adult Swim show.

On the bright side, they already replaced two voice actors on the show so if they need to replace him it's not like it's unprecedented. They'll just have to do another trip to the clone farms.

I'm conflicted on how they should handle it. On the one hand Early is an important part of the show since his actions drive the plot a lot of the time but on the other hand Baker's performance is so ingrained into the character that anyone else doing it would be distracting. I could see them maybe doing something that splits the difference where they write Early off but replace him with a similar character from another branch of the Cuyler family tree.

Isn't the 100 prequel just "the news"

There was a backdoor pilot in the final season where the idea was that it followed the group that eventually becomes the Grounder civilisation.

Yeah, the Grounder society stuff was never the high point of the series.

Daedo posted:

That last season was so long ago (especially in the year that was 2020) but didnt they spend a large part of the final season basically building up to this spinoff?

Not really, they spent a lot of the last couple of seasons in the future but after Crisis they rebooted that timeline it so that really didn't go anywhere.

Though, they did spend one full episode of an already truncated final season as a backdoor pilot not really connected to much of anything else since it was in the future. Seems kind of a waste now.

The 100 did the same thing and it looks like Black Lightning is doing it too for their Painkiller spin off. CW just likes backdoor pilots.

Really the only backdoor pilot I can think of that wasn't super annoying was when Barry Allen was introduced on Arrow. It helped that the original plan was that the Flash stuff would pay off at a later date so it didn't feel super forced.

I've made jokes about stuff that like for video games but for a CW teen soap opera that doesn't seem like remotely enough time to cover what happened.

Just a detailed breakdown of straight and gay relationships in The 100 would take minimum 2 hours, more like 6 if also including the fan-base reactions and insanity.

It isn't so much a review of the show as a whole but Jenny talking about her experience watching it. So there are tangents about the original book series, the ad that ran on the on demand version she originally watched back in the day and also a section on a pre-TV series videogame adaptation.

I recently finished watching the latest season of Disenchantment and while I'm enjoying the moment to moment comedy bits at times it feels like someone wrote out an outline of what the plot of the entire series was going to be and they decided to speed run it. Nothing in the plot feels like it has time to breathe because they need to be on to the next thing.
