The real thing keeping BotW unique is that it’s a loving insane amount of work to do. Full, long day of shooting, then 1 to 2 weeks of full-time editing. You’ll notice that even other YouTube shows that do the “friends watch and discuss bad movie(s)” pretty much always stick to just doing one movie per episode (like FilmJoy’s Deep Dive) and often only film the discussion so they don’t all have to watch the movie at the same time (GoodBad or BadBad).

Yeah you get to somewhat go on the journey with them. When you see something insane happen in a movie you’re seeing them react alongside you it really helps the experience.

Yeah when I say good I mean at the very least it will have a clear vision and look to it and will be more ambitious than most comic book movie output. It will still be juvenile and lame but imo that is what comic book movies should be to begin with.

Honestly hating Snyder at this point is hack. He’s an artist who was able to make exactly what he wanted and the studio has spent millions to allow it to happen. He won, good for him.

And I say this as a person who absolutely despised man of steel, but again when comparing Snyder to the modern crop of directors making big budget blockbusters. I’d rather him do it than most other people. He has a clear consistent vision and cares about what he’s making. Marvel movies are directed by boardrooms and focus groups. Even if his movies are sloppy and juvenile they at least attempt something.

Nolan also is drowning in his own ego. But he has a lot more talent to back it up than Snyder. Nolan actually pulled off a good gritty superhero movie that could say something intelligent about society. Snyder is on his fourth try, and couldn’t even make it work with Watchmen when the story was already written out for him.

He made a good gritty superhero movie until he got to the third act and the dark knight rises.

I will say though the hardest I ever laughed in a theater was the close up of Superman’s digital face because they had to cgi his mustache off and also the scene where the flash and cyborg dig up Superman’s grave.

I love the people in this thread who get offended at people hating current and new media because they’re aging millennials who want to feel like they’re still in touch with culture at large. What breaks my heart is they released Multiple Maniacs, Female Trouble, and Polyester, but New Line won't budge on the rights to Pink Flamingos.

Which is annoying because what is new line even doing with Pink Flamingos.

Wall-e is legit trash. It’s fun for about 10 minutes then it just devolves into robots being cute for an hour and a half. Up though is way worst than wall e. They didn’t have enough faith that a house floating with balloons was whimsical enough so they threw in a tacked on villain and talking dogs.
