Yeah A-10 now has wing upgrades and enough retired spares to last well past 2045. Fucker will never die. I know when I separated the E-8s were losing 4 to the boneyard and the new testbed was kinda not planning out. I suspect it'll hang around in small numbers for a while, or at least until the rest of the airframes break their backs like the ones going to the boneyard. I'll be very, very surprised if any JSTARS are flying at the end of this decade. It's less of an "if" decision than a "how soon" decision at this point. Robins and the GAANG is already fighting for unrelated replacement missions.

Yeah I'd be surprised of the airframes last much longer, they were already getting pretty bad when I left, like I said literal cracks in the airframe.

It got a lot of attention. If not for someone recording it, there's no way anybody would've given a poo poo. The WG/CC's reaction was to say it was a misunderstanding, but all the eyes on it left 15AF in a bind. I don't know Donovan, but my hot take is that he just happened to be the one standing when the music stopped. Tinker's been like this forever, and will continue to be so because nothing has actually been changed by removing this cog from the machine.

You'd think that but it was a problem in 2013 and apparently was being used as leverage to retire them. Or at least a reason beyond wing spars and whatever else the mafia could drum up. Who knows. One might imagine barrels are cheap and the short tail... All I know is warthog go brrrrrrrrrrrrrr. (it's super loud in person, nothing else like it)

They can replace him with the 968/CC (or was it the DO?) that called his deployed crews traitors for cancelling a sortie over safety concerns. Or something to that effect.

I was reading our squadron’s climate assessment results a couple years ago, and one individual (I assume) commented on multiple questions that we need to have FoxNews on the TV’s and not these other channels that are disrespectful to the troops. I wasn’t sure which tv he was talking about, because the only public tv in the building is in our break room, and is usually on ESPN on drill weekends, if it’s even on at all.

I remember there being low key rumblings about Fox being on when Trump started getting mentioned more and more but channel selection got nuked and Fox verboten by the group commander after that “bad hombres” soundbite dropped and got replayed over and over. We got limited to like the actual Golf Channel and like some weird channel they only played those long rear end commercials for rotisserie chickens. We watched a lot of golf because of Trump.
