As is Batman Beyond which I am less familiar with, so catching up on it now. There is an episode early on where a sound tech guy tries to make Bruce Wayne think he is going ceazy by hearing voices and at the end he says he knew they were coming from somewhere else because the voices in his head don't call him Bruce and I am still processing that.

Batman Beyond is an amazing show, rivalled only by Justice League Unlimited for best American superhero cartoon ever.

The capper is the Return of the Joker movie, which, if you watch it, watch the uncut version, which goddamned loving goes some dark places

off on a different tangent i'm reading hard boiled wonderland by murakami. dudes got some wild prose about women. almost half way thru.

This is fine for home tinkerers.

When I was working on my tools, I figured out quickly what i could get away with doing Harbor Freight, and what I really actually needed to spend money on. When you're using them for an 8-12 hour shift (or the occasional OT/double), you don't have to time to waste with sockets with slop, ratchets that can't stand torque, wrenches that round off, or anything with poor ergonomics.

A home toolbox that's like 90% Harbor Freight is fine for the vast majority of Americans, tho

I think I need to give up woodworking as a hobby. Not because I don't like it, but because every time I make a mistake, I have to explain it to my wife, then I have to hear about it from her what I should have done. Then she goes online and looks at the same thing online and asks why I didn't make it like that. I'm just sick of having every little thing critiqued, especially when I already know I screwed it up.

My grandfather was a master carpenter and cabinetmaker, as a hobby (petroleum engineer by trade). He said literally the only difference that comes with skill and experience is the ability to better hide your mistakes.

I turn wood, and I haven't made a flawless piece yet. Tell your wife to ease the gently caress off.

I missed theme park chat, but we have a supervisor who's a pretty good guy, and his only weirdness is taking him and the kids to Disney about five-six times a year. He asked me when the last time I went was, and I told him me and the folks went to Disney and Universal Studios once. The big attraction at Universal Studios at the time? Battlestar Galactica.

No, not that one. The other one.

Trampolines are also a wind hazard. We had two hurricanes hit Mobile this year, and after each one I saw a half-dozen crumpled up trampolines that had taken flight and landed in someone else's yard or on their car.

Our neighbor had one and I told him the best thing he could possibly do for his home insurance is take a knife and split that bastard down the middle. Neighborhood kids would come and jump on it all hours of the day (unfenced yard), and he was lucky he never got sued.
