It's 2021 and you know what that means: getting hot and bothered over the Pro Football Hall of Fame ballot once again. Last year had an extra large class to celebrate the NFL's Centennial, and was going to be a huge party in Canton in early August. But then whoops, pandemic, so that never happened. Supposedly they're going to combine the ceremonies this year so the 2020 class can still get their speeches, but we probably already know that's wishful thinking. Still, they're going through with the annual voting process and will reveal the final class the night before the Super Bowl as usual. So here are the fifteen nominees who made the final Modern Era ballot. Remember that you can only vote for five out of this class, so choose wisely. Manning and Woodson are automatic. Three potential WRs - I think Calvin Johnson and Torry Holt will both eventually get in and one of them will be this year. Faneca versus Boselli for an offensive line slot - Boselli was arguably better at his peak but Faneca was great for longer. I think Faneca gets it. For the fifth slot, there a lot of other DBs on the list, Leroy Butler has a strong case, but they're already doing one DB if they do Woodson. They doubled up on safeties last year so it happens, but I don't know. Zach Thomas had the poor fortune of having his career overlap with Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher so he didn't have many chances to be better than the 3rd best MLB in the league. I don't know enough about Sam Mills to compare him. Letting in Allen or Seymour would alleviate the DE/rushing OLB crunch coming down the pipeline with Julius Peppers, DeMarcus Ware, Dwight Freeney, and James Harrison all being eligible soon. Obviously Seymour was a different guy than all of them, though. I'm a little surprised Patrick Willis wasn't a finalist. Sure he didn't play for as many years as some guys, but he was truly dominant when he did. gohuskies fucked around with this message at 02:14 on Jan 6, 2021 |

It's a perfect video that shows both what happens when football players collide with normal human beings and that Jared Allen is a remarkably stupid person.

Megatron and Manning have to get in first ballot and I would hope Son of Wood as well. I wasn't really following Football for most of Torry "Big Game" Holt's career.

He was the first and might still be the only player in NFL history with 20 sacks and 20 INTs.

Manning Johnson Woodson Faneca Thomas Boselli A lot of borderline cases here but these are the ones I would put in. I think Terrell Davis getting in sets precedent for peak over longevity Really ridiculous that Faneca has been on this ballot six times. Come on! If he isnt a HOF at guard no one is.

Some of those are clear "no"s but I see at least Steve Smith, Ware, and Wilfork all eventually getting in. The D line space is going to get crowded with Richard Seymour and Jared Allen already as finalists!
