I loving love Craps. My friends all look at me weird when I want to find that table instead of go zombie eyed and slack jawed at a slot machine for hours. It's been a long rear end time since I played at a casino, but we hit up Caesars Windsor for a buddy's bachelor party years and years ago. I ended up doing well enough to pick up the bar tab for the rest of the night and then buy a new console the next day.

Yes, I called my friend a dick for playing Don't Pass when I was shooting, but I did it with a smile on my face... and also 7'd out in like two rolls.

Once I got it into my ADHD impulsive head to bet on any craps and was in the process of tossing my chips over to the stickman. A die in flight hit my hand and sure enough the shooter rolled a 3. The boxman said "no bet" while nearly dripping with contempt. I felt mortified.

life is killing me posted:I wanted to try craps so badly my last time in Vegas, I was with a few friends on a trip we’d won and we mostly ended up playing card games, which are largely a giant racket which seem to have a massive house edge. Omaha stud, Caribbean stud, this stud, that stud...plus blackjack. For craps, the house edge is basically defined by the payouts. You don't roll 2d6 at one casino and 2d7 another, the probability of the roll outcomes is well understood. The odds bet in craps is the only fair bet in a casino I've been told, but to even make one you need to make a bet with a house edge baked in. Maximizing your odds bet minimizes the house edge as a proportion of your total bet, but even with no limit to the odds bet, the edge never hits zero. And no sensible casino would do that anyway.
