I was playing blackjack and hit a run of like 10 wins in a row, and the dealer starting saying some passive aggressive poo poo like "you winning and not doing anything", and "nothing for the dealer huh". I usually tip at the end...not this time. To be fair, that was the only time that had happened in over 20 years of degen gambling, but it stuck with me. I always tip in poker because the dealer will save your rear end if they like you.

If you can't afford to tip you aren't a winning player, change my mind

Dealer here. I absolutely don't expect tips, but it's a nice gesture if it happens. I won't be annoyed if somebody doesn't. Some observations: Biggest winners are most often the ones who don't tip at all. I'll give somebody multiple thousands on roulette and not even get a bean when they leave the table. Whereas some young kid playing the minimum hand on blackjack will toss you the extra 1/2 whenever they get a blackjack. Our casino does a TRONC system where tips are shared amongst the gaming staff (valets/door staff etc. get to keep their own). What DOES annoy me is when a punter asks if we get to keep our own, I say they're shared, and they then say "oh, I won't tip you then". A share of something is better than a share of nothing you rear end! Our blackjack tables only take bets in multiples of £1 (UK here so insert $ or cents where applicable) so a lot of punters will be "what the hell do I do with this?" if they get 50p from a blackjack. I'll usually say "wait for another one and then you have £1 that you can use!". Often they'll just chuck you the 50p. Often they'll be apologetic that it's not more, as if it's an insult, even though I will show genuine gratitude every time because it's not as if they have to and I'm absolutely appreciative - it all adds up! The ones who tell somebody who is about to give me the 50p "ugh don't give him that - I have one too so we can make a £1" can gently caress right off though - I'm right here and can hear you. Had a high roller the other day who was done and went to cash out. Asked the cash desk for a few hundred in £5 notes/bills which they thought was a bit odd. Turns out they then proceeded to walk the floor and give everybody they could find (dealers/valets/cleaners/security/whatever) one each, regardless of if they'd had any interaction with them that night. Very cool move. Creepy old (mainly) dudes who promise tips if a pretty young dealer gives them a smile or whatever can also gently caress right off. Demeaning poo poo. Dance monkey, dance! Seconding that placing a bet for the dealer is really fun (for me as a dealer OR when I'm on the other side of the table). It's a pity that it's not well known here that you can do that - even a lot of my colleagues don't know about it or how it works. I guess the main point is that tipping is a nice thing to do but, apart from the minority of dealers who feel entitled, we won't mind at all if you don't (unless you're a twat about it).

I always tip my wins and love putting bets for the dealers. I like the dumb bonus games and putting out a bonus for the dealer is fun when it pays off. We were playing 3 card poker and I put out a 5 for the dealer and we hit a straight flush - that was a fun 200$ tip

I usually "tip" in craps with a dealer field bet but I get sad when it doesn't pay out

On a good run, I usually bet a dollar for the dealer for every number (4,5,6,8,9,10) since they will round their tips up and we both feel like we are getting something out of it. Usually player controlled so they stay up after hitting.

In my house (and I assumed everywhere else?) change is dropped, so a $1 four or ten would theoretically pay $1.80 but in practice pays $1 That said, hell yeah at tipping on dice! I’ve heard a rumor that it’s good luck. Granted, I started it, but still…
