So I'm sitting here thinking to myself, had a fun thought, and was like, hey it might be fun to write it out and have it spread out it the madness of the interweb 2021. I make an account, never done a reddit before, always just kinda used it as a general oh thats a thing that happened in the states today, and sometimes weed pics when I'm high. Done and done and off I go a typing. Finished, proof read, corrected the mistakes and hit that post button. NOPE. Not enough "karma"......the loving gently caress what? What is this poo poo, what mad god has gone and tainted an idea such as karma. Oh gently caress you reddit, right there. But wait, maybe there's a rule I missed or didn't read, oh like this one, #7: 7. No posts about Reddit or its functions. Posts which include any mention of Reddit, subreddits, karma, or anything tangentially related are not allowed here. .....and this is some Catch 22 bs, I cannot fathom what reasons they must have for this, what secrets they must hide (you know beyond the kiddy porn) for this kinda madness to be seen as the norm. And this poo poo is popular and with so many people just going along I now look more in stunned horrified awe at what is basically one of the biggest, most connected, "thing" that exists on the internet today. Man the kids of tomorrow have no gotdamn chance do they, hoooo thats a big house of fuckery is what that is. (See SA is the superior choice, after all these years this dumb little comedy forum founded by assholes still rises ahead, not of its betterment, but of how the others seem to come up short when not stopping themselves from becoming monsters.)

Most subreddits have an extremely extremely basic anti-spam precaution where they basically don't let you post new "threads" if you've never commented or only made extremely lovely comments, based on your number of upvotes. Reddit absolutely loving sucks but this really isn't being "so guarded."

what rules? are you talking about the "redditquette" page because that's a joke. its a popularity contest social media website, people use it exactly as such and those "rules" never apply. certainly there are infinite posts on reddit about reddit and karma. its basically like a postcount on some random forums when you need to make some dumb whitenoise posts before they let you ask your question in the questions forum or whatever

Reddit is 49 percent kids and 50 percent idiots, the last percent is, you guessed it me, me. Reddit is bad because if you don't follow the current group think your comments gets shuffled into obscurity. This leads to the top thing being either the current "good" opinion or a dumb injoke like "instructions unclear, penis stuck in cake". But there's a lot of good content too, so reddit is a land of contrast.
