Well aware about wood, otherwise would have just built something "good enough" a long time ago, and unfortunately my skills with metal are somewhere around "none" so can't really compromise with that either. Ah well. Just have to continue hoping nothing ever happens to the boxes whatsoever since I can't replace a lot of it. Keeping an eye out in the mean time...

Ikea has different levels of quality, some of it is pretty ok. Also I've seen people turn Ikea bookcases into some really incredible looking built-ins, if you're up for putting a little sweat equity into the project.

There are some versions of it on Amazon that are pretty cheap, if you're ok with filling some wall holes when you move out, you could consider them non-permanent: https://www.amazon.com/Nathan-James-65502-Shelves-Bookcase/dp/B07F8J8QH6

Do not take apart gun by yourself, it will cause the trouble and dangerous.
Did you look at overstock.com? Everything they sell comes in a huge range of quality, styles and prices, and one does not necessarily correlate with another, so definitely read reviews, but with careful shopping, we've done pretty well with them over the years.

We did have Kmart bookshelves without feet on carpet in an apartment for years without issues, so I'm not sure what you're looking for in terms of staying stable on carpet.

It's an uneven floor under the carpet, enough that I can notice just walking around, so that's amplifying the issue of carpet for potential steadiness or lack thereof. Hence the active concern instead of just "i'll deal with it whenever".

Inject everything in this room directly into my house, including the cat.

Let me mount my guns where I need to climb on the desk to reach them, exposing myself to snipers. Yes, I know they're decorative, but I come from a household where the idea of a decorative gun is anathema.

Neat, but I have my doubts about the rigor of the homeowners' dig methodology. Would not live there, and certainly not in the hotbox.

Another option is a big thrift store that specializes in furniture from old peoples' houses after they die and their kids clear it out. The one around here is called Blessings Abound but I think every big metro area has something similar. I think the phrase to look for is going to be something like "estate clearout".

Hard to be sure but this Delta seems like a close match:

I can't seem to find anything that's an exact match. The closest are the Franke Pescara which has the handle height but the arm looks more round than flat and the on faucet controls may be different:

https://www.ferguson.com/product/franke-pescara-single-handle-pull-down-kitchen-faucet-in-stainless-steel-fffpd4350/_/R-7532885

This Blanco is pretty close too but the handle is a bit different and there's a black feature on the end of the arm where the faucet goes:
https://smile.amazon.com/Blanco-441332-Culina-Semi-Pro-Kitchen/dp/B004QLAXHE

ZLine Incline is similar with a flat arm but the handle is lower:
https://www.zlinekitchen.com/incline-chrome

This Elkay Avado has a wider base but is close:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Elkay-Avad...teel/5000310541

These are wrong for a couple of reasons but of a similar high height pull down without a big spring style:
http://water-ridge.ca/en_ca/index.php/4231950.html
https://www.rejuvenation.com/catalog/collections/culinary-pull-down-kitchen-faucet/products/58a5fe1ab504f5558d0019fa
https://www.mooresupplyhouston.com/...chen-Faucet.HTM

It's wild that with pictures of everything on the internet I couldn't find the exact match, but it could be an older model or product line from a brand whose website I went through or a little more obscure.
