The Cuervo gold? The fine Columbian? I for one have been revisiting The Royal Scam (I like the edge of Don’t Take Me Alive) and trying to find out how to score these gems. Might make some soft pretzels next weekend ![]() What’s your album? Have you made the pilgrimage to Annandale?

Colonel Cancer posted:Never heard of him ngl, any recommendations? I usually listen to all sorts of garbage Ok so basically my tip is find the SD single you like the most and then listen to the album it’s on. However my fave jams are rn Kid Charlemagne Deacon Blues The Fez (and basically the latter half of The Royal Scam) Any Major Dude Will Tell You Hey Nineteen And you’ve likely heard most of Can’t Buy a Feeling (which is OK tbh but doesn’t give a whole feel of the band Y’know) E: Donald Fagen’s The Nightfly is also loving amazing and wow, the entire album, listen to the entire album

Steely Dan smegging rule, thx for the reminder to play an album soon. Heard Ricki Don't Lose That Number in a shop recently, and sang along. It's long been one of my favorite tracks.

Dr. Quarex posted:Steely Dan was probably like my 100th favorite band when I was a teenager and is probably like my 5th favorite band now... Are they destined to keep rising?!? They are pretty much the quintessential cynical middle-aged man band. My best friend liked them in high school (because he was an insecure, frustrated nerd and they are also a quintessential band for guys like that) and my punk rock rear end disparaged them and said they were for perverted guys in their forties. One day when I was about 38, "Showbiz Kids" came on the radio and I was hooked. I don't know what it is, maybe all the diminished 9th chords mirror my diminished erectile function.
