I feel like the 21/7 is the better option. That's only about 1 skill point behind the curve of youth fkers in the league. Trying to blood a 4 skill at this point could be painful when people have had time to skill up their free-kick takers to 7-9 skill.

My official league team is pretty bad but I had a really good cup run on my women's team, squeaking by 2 stronger opponents on away goals before narrowly losing to the 3rd. The extra DV you get from cup games is insanely good, here is the squad with 6 out of 14 league games left in the season:  (I just bought Feri Dankha and Aleksandra Skogan last week, probably going to sell off whoever gets a double jump so I can get a FK specialist and replace the retiring forwards) Conclusion: It is always worth it to set a high win bonus for a cup tie

Hi guys, I'm on the road and haven't started the next league yet. Last leagues time of match was a bit of an abberation - sorry about that. Will go back to the 1930 time slot. I presume everyone is happy with the same structure? We still have roughly the same amount of teams. How long would we like between leagues to buy players etc? I felt last time was a bit short.

Short seasons and waiting times are good in general Last season felt about right though maybe nice to have an 3rd promotion spot for Serie Goon so that best 2nd team also makes it?

One week between seasons giving time for a second training cycle within the break is always good. Gives one free week of income and time to shop about! Had many inactives? How are we for total teams? Not entirely against ever moving to 8 team leagues.

Currently there are 31 teams with two inactives, FC Guillotine and The Numpties, and both of those teams look like they're in pretty good shape. As far as the league format goes, the extra Serie Goon relegation spot would be ok, it would make things more interesting in those divisions with a runaway winner. A cup tournament might be cool too. Lurkers reading the thread, right now would be a good time to join since we're in between seasons and there are two solid teams waiting for managers.

Cups were historically bad because teams that progressed got extra DV from the additional matches, making the strong teams even stronger. If that hasn't been rebalanced in recent times then I don't think cups would be a good choice.

If any goons not currently in the game read this, you should join and take over one of the 2 inactive teams. They are both pretty good if managed right. Also it doesn't matter if you ever played before because I literally never played a soccer game in my life before this and I've won the league two out of three times.

Inauspiciously, 4 minutes into the new campaign one of my youth defenders scores an own goal. My star defender already got a serious injury one game into the season too  At least I still won! RN B looks like it'll be a big fight though.

I think they only gain/lose DV if they play though, so you can bench them forever. In league play, three away games in a row is not boding well. Already lost two, kind of need to get something from this one so that I'm not facing relegation. I did love that the game gave me a 5 star review for my tactics against Jiveturkey... and then I lost 1-0. Lots of upside to my team but still could use another season or two to get those bars + get the age up.
