Generation Z/Gen Z. Also known as Post-Millennials, the iGeneration, Plurals, Centennials or the Homeland Generation. The demographic cohort after the Millennials. Now, Milennials, and sometimes Boomers, are often lambasted in GBS threads, but I can't remember ever seeing Gen Z deprecated or even discussed. This is not good enough. Some other commentary on Gen Z, from various sources, to get the conversational ball rolling (also see Wikipedia): "There are no precise dates for when the Gen Z cohort starts or ends; demographers and researchers typically use starting birth years that range from the mid-1990s to early 2000s, and as of yet there is little consensus about ending birth years." Are you, dear Goon, unaware of Gen Z (no young people ever visit your basement / old folks home, so you only ever see them in internet porn), do you think they suck, do you like them, or do you lerv them? Are the poll options explicitly indicating non-affiliation with Aatrek mean the ones without that note are affiliated with Aatrek? Also why are we doing this when Boomers and GenX need to be fed so much poo poo they all commit seppuku so the rest of us can live better? Are they like zoomers? I had an extended spawning from 2001-2006 and the fruit of my loins are good people. The Internet though, I feel those of us who found it after our formative years won't be able to judge those that have grown up with absolutely every mistake or embarrassment they made as a child being there forever, never ever to be forgotten. Thats harsh. Can you imagine that staggering cornucopia at your fingertips at the tender age of 10?

I asked a youth this recently and they weren't familiar with the concept of being in a generation. I explained it was a stupid marketing thing about segmenting your audience to target them and we left it at that. Good sign.

I'm a cusper born between Gen-X and Gen-Y. I don't identify with either of them. Generational theory is bullshit, though. There are no generational cycles. It's a pseudoscience. So Gen-Z is nonsense, then.

Some of you (maybe closet Zoomers, thx for teaching me that word btw) have moaned ITT about 'Gen Z' etc. being marketing terms. If so, what do you people think about marketing Something Awful Forums/GBS to Zoomers? Would you help facilitate that in any way, would you even tolerate it, or would you prefer to 'die' (avoid an influx of Zoomer 'new blood', perhaps leaving the Forums less financially viable) before your dead gay forum can be prized from your dead, cold hands? They seem ok for the most part. I guess they made the Paul brothers famous which is a pretty big mark against them but they also make fun of us millennials for liking harry potter which is cool. Seems like they were born knowing the world is a gently caress and have reacted accordingly which I can respect. Also I think one of them bodyslammed a cop last year which is rad as hell.
