There was such a big gap the new ones got hired and have been working for 2-3 months. Whats even more baffling is Paradox owns a hefty chunk of Hardpoint so its the weirdest firing from a project possible.

I can’t tell if my tinnitus has gotten worse over the last month or if I’m just more aware of it lately but I feel like I’m going crazy. I’ve had a light buzz for years but now my mind keeps going back to it and focusing on it and it’s starting to drive me batty.

Get a high-quality headphone band (I use SleepPhones) and download a white noise app. It's been immensely helpful in getting me rest. Edit: Also consider scheduling an appointment with an ENT specialist, tinnitus can be exacerbated by things like deep wax buildup or higher blood pressure. VideoGames posted:A combination of playing through New Vegas again (because I had a hankering after remembering I had never completed it or played any of the DLCs) and Rise of the Tomb Raider (which I am surprised to discover I like more than I thought I would, but only on PC) managed to stir another game longing in me. I think it's just a personal thing and I'm not sure modding could ever turn around your initial impression, unless your impression was "if only these few things were a lil different." Never was a combination of Skyrim mods that got me to play it on PC for more than a little bit. Seems people tend to like the first ES game that was new when they got sucked in, but I don't think that's the case for you is it? Trying to rack my brain why a body would enjoy Skyrim over Morrowind (not ever bothering to try and imagine why anyone would ever play Oblivion again, it's only cultural contribution is oblivion npc meme). I think it's possibly because Skyrim always gives you something clear to do. It's not usually super interesting, challenging, fun, engaging, or worthwhile, but goddamn if they don't always have some glowing marker and trail leading you somewheres that'll get you somethings. It takes a lot of the stuff you'd do wandering around and exploring naturally and turns them into digestible bits and steers you exactly where to go, sans horse mountaineering. Morrowind is a struggle, you're rolling hit dice on attacks, you're reading NPC dialogue for directions and the NPC is sometimes wrong, you're looking for anything you can identify as a landmark in the ashlands. What do you do, where do you go, why do that? Those are questions in Morrowind you always need to sort out for yourself. If you wanna be indiana jones in Morrowind, you'll need to learn the differences between one elf family from the next so when you raid their tomb, you don't waste time on the poor chump tombs. Even when you do find a juicy tomb, the best treasure might be hidden in an alcove above you that you need levitation to reach, and in there behind a wall, is actually a little nook with the same texture as the wall hiding an even rarer treasure. Then some ghost saps your strength and you're out of potions and have to recall to vivec or whatever. Skyrim tells you where to go, what to do there, theoretically there's a reason why but it's never important, often the task itself is just procedurally generated, go to [x], kill [y] and gather [z]. Then you go do that, come back, get reward. You pop into a cave, the game checks your level, then makes the cave appropriate for you so you fight enemies you can beat and get treasure for about your level. In Morrowind, once you finish the tutorial/char-gen you leave this dinky port town and wander into a dank swampy forest, where an elf falls screaming out of the sky and dies in a crumpled heap at your feet. The game, meanwhile, is vaguely encouraging maybe investing some bandit caves or going to visit some drug addict in some other town... but really from here you kind of start exploring and figuring out your own motivations, but yeah, it's also quite possibly to get lost with no idea where you "Should" be going because you should just do whatever the hell suits your whims (but not everybody has that kind of impulse). Skyrim it's like 8 minutes before you can even move, but they use that time to deliver some exposition, set up some politics and characters, then there's a big flashy dragon set piece you run from before getting dumped into the world proper. By then you've already been started to be established as The Guy, you're given the broad strokes of the game's main conflicts, and you're set on a path that will almost inevitably funnel you to the next intended areas. I think another thing Skyrim did well, at the expense of any good magic + spell crafting whatsoever, was the shout acquisition being a steady motivation for exploring certain content. Less about the generic loot that will always be trash compared to crafted poo poo and more about getting another dragon letter or whatever to unlock a new special power. Morrowind let you do a ton of cool stuff with magic, but it was hard and who knows how many ever bothered to figure it out. Trapping souls into gems alone is probably a step too far for most players. Beating some dungeon and puzzle to get a new dragon abc? Anyone can grok that immediately. TL;DR Skyrim is way more streamlined and designed to be the sort of thing where you can suddenly find yourself XX hours in having really only puttered around [anywhere]. It's potato chips. Morrowind is Doritos but they just gave you some masa, milk, oil, and spice and you gotta fuckin make the dorito
