Hope he can hold up. The Caps are old and slow but still skilled and can score and just need slightly above average goal tending if they wanna not lose in the first round again.

Yeah once OV gets that move into the middle you might as well just tack the goal on before he even shoots.

There's still 20:46 left in this game and it's a one-goal deficit, but I'm having flashbacks to the late-2000s when playing the Preds was Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here. It's channeling the that-era hate I have for that team and the irrational hate of that overrated-rear end town with its one gimmick it runs into the ground.

The only move I haven't like from GMBM was signing Panik for four years. This years moves have all low key been pretty good. Chara has been decent and the difference with Schultz in and out of the lineup is noticeable. Sheary knows how to compliment super stars well and has fit right in filling in for what Panik was supposed to be.

It's literally only because he's small. He's got plenty of talent and speed but because he's not 6' 11" GMs and coaches assume he can't play anything but the most sheltered of minutes

I am very happy the Devils have decided to try and only take fancy shots instead of just shooting in the general net direction.

That 3 on 2 yesterday where he DIDN'T pass it to Ovie was a ballsy move, perhaps born of playing with dudes that distort the ice with their presence.

Pens look like tired old rear end
The tight schedule and back to backs are gonna be rough on the older guys I guess

Jesus tap-dancing Christ. You're on the PP and trying to make it 6-on-4 and then Korpi starts to come out and gets back into position but allows a 10-ply soft goal

I missed most all of the first but spreadsheet says the Penguins have been loving annihilated 5v5 with 8 shots against 1 shot for and out chanced 7-3 and 4-2 in high dangers. Bryan Rust has pulled Malkin way up but Letang/Pettersson is being wrecked and Sid/Guentzel/Kapenen have 5 shots against and no chances for. loving fire Sullivan jfc.

Yeah, I know the trio is getting old but there's no way the team is inherently as bad as they have been playing

It's hilariously impressive that Penguins management fired all the assistant coaches and left Sullivan, but the team is now worse in nearly all facets of the game. Lol and lmao.

Really makes the Hornqvist trade hurt that much more because our lovely lovely PP is the thing that made him seem cooked

Hornqvist was never 'cooked' and trading him remains utterly mystifying to me outside of big cap hit and the Pens needed a right handed defenseman with vague offensive upside. That the Pens didn't even seem to sniff around Vatanen also seems insane to me.

Well I only meant to say he's a powerplay specialist who was on a team with a lovely powerplay so his production dropped. He's already surpassed his PP point total from last year in less than half as many games this year.
I guess part of it might be that the coaching staff just didn't see him as a fit for whatever the gently caress they are trying to make the powerplay be and his 20-30 even strength point production was less appealing for the price tag but even so, trading him for a flier on a left-handed dman when we have Dumoulin and Pettersson signed and POJ in the wings was baffling
