Wattson just became way more useful now. I love shutting Fuse down completely with her ult.

Crypto could have been cool but he's kinda boring, especially to play as. He is extremely good late game though, just not for me.

Crypto would be 100% more fun if they kept the ability to have rampart place Sheila on his drone and let them do a fly by.

Even though the Volt got a tiny nerf this season its still extremely good. I was able to get 12 kills with it in 2 games just due to its ability to laser people in close range. Volt and flatline is definitely my preferred loadout rn.

After initially only using the Anvil receiver on the flatline, ive had some wins using the 301 with the Anvil and its so drat good. Running spitfire/Anvil 301 loving owns

I started playing Rampart just because of her passive and got my first win plus a 2k badge for her just because of how good a 63 round Spitfire is this season. I've won multiple fights just because they had to reload and I didn't. Having a character that can use survey beacons is a good idea so you can find a good place to lock down and fortify with walls. I usually like to play aggressive but it is fun to wall up and challenge people to attack you.

The most fun I've had this season was playing Rampart and running two spitfires with gold magazines, never stop shooting.

I finally got to try Apex on my Switch lite and I feel bad for anyone on Switch who tries to enable crossplay. It looks like poo poo and handles even worse. The fact that switch players can crossplay with xbox and playstation players is a boon for players on the more powerful consoles. As a player who is using a Series X I can't say I'm unhappy about that.

Into The Mild posted:Agreed. It’s just pretty horrible. To be fair I think it's insane that this game is even possible on Switch, like how Doom Eternal or Wolfenstein are playable on Switch. There's no way they could have gone for 60 fps without a serious compromise in terms of graphical fidelity. I am surprised that they even offer crossplay with other consoles, switch players are at a massive disadvantage. Even the menus are laggy as hell compared to Series X.

I can deal with ring flares if they remove Maggie from the game permanently, her VO is so irritating that I've stopped playing nearly as much as I used to. I turned down character voices initially before I realized that also turned off VOs for the people in your party, which wasn't worth the peace and quiet.

I finally played Titanfall 2 and it makes Apex feel slow and meandering in comparison. It's a real shame EA buried this game by releasing it between BF1 and CoD. I avoided it because I figured the only people left were hardcore players who have been playing it since release and while that's partially true but there are still plenty of people who aren't super sweaty. Anyone who likes Apex that hasn't tried TF2 should give it a try. The movement system in TF2 is truly freeing and feels amazing.

I just had a 12 kill game as Caustic and I'm not even mad that we didn't win. No one wants to stand in fart gas even after the nerfs, which I thought would dumpster Caustic. It's still extremely easy to funnel people where you want them by placing traps around. If people can't shoot them, then they run away.
If Maggie is the announcer for these takeovers then I won't play them and I'll stick to ranked.

Considering that apex is just a long continuous third party fight having huge mobility with low cooldowns is extremely fun and good.

I hate both Estates and Gardens, I usually drop either Bonsai or Oasis. Oasis is especially fun when you get there first and have free dibs on the gear in the basement. Nothing like grabbing a gold spitfire and a purple shield and just absolutely destroying any other team who dropped there.

Because crypto is boring as gently caress to play as. The only time crypto was fun was when you could put sheila on his drone.

Valk is fun as hell and probably my favorite champ since Octane. The best part about Valk is people who don't know how to use her jump and end up just slowly floating towards you for an easy kill. I also thought I would hate the bow but that thing rips through people and is surprisingly easy to use, im sure its going to get nerfed real quick.
Yeah I still think the bow is still going to be overwhelmingly powerful.

I'm not sure what it is but I really don't care for the arena mode. I think I've gotten too used to being the third party that I'm just poo poo at actual 3v3 combat. I think I play too aggressively that I get caught out and owned and put my teammates in a bad situation. I might just need to play more arenas to get used to it.

As someone who only started playing Apex after the PK was added to the care package, I can never figure out how to effectively use it. Anytime I pick the PK up I miss more shots than I do using the Mozzie. Am I just poo poo or am I missing something?

I'll take a 2x over a 3x 100% of the time. A 2x is the perfect mid range optic because it still works perfectly well in closer engagements. The 3x is just a bit too much for me.

Tweak posted:I wonder if console players prefer arenas since there is little to no looting or inventory management to slow them down. Also no third parties requiring a slow turning 360 to the person shooting at your back. Yes I often find that I lose fights when I turn 360 degrees slowly

I cant wait for the new and improved L-STAR, I've been using it more recently and really enjoy it but it def needs the buffs that this patch seems to be providing.

Yeah the rampage rips through people at mid range. I've been slapping a 3x on it and carrying a short range backup weapon because it isn't great at close range.

The worst is when you play a game where the champion squad has like 60k kills between them and you think you kill them in the early part of the game but they get rezzed and then stomp your rear end during the last fight. This is definitely not something that happened to me super recently or anything.

I had a great experience where my friend and I saw a team at the top of the construction building in west Fragment and we knew they had to take the zip line near us to get to zone so I placed Sheila behind a rock near the zip. My friend threw Horizon's ult as soon as they got off the zip and I absolutely destroyed them with Sheila. Got a message saying "Really?" after, which I loved
I finally realized why ranked is the best way to play. Had a game where my friends and I got 26 kills total because we won Fragment and the final circle was just outside Fragment. Never had a game where my team killed nearly half the lobby, felt good man. Getting an alternator from a care package near the end of the game was a cherry on top, those disruptor rounds loving shred people.

KC is a total buzzkill for me, if it comes up in the rotation I just stop playing. Part of the reason I'm pumped for next season is because I won't have to play KC for an entire season.

Songbearer posted:This season has been my worst since season 2 performancewise Duos is definitely rough, which is a bummer because the friends I play apex with are rarely online at the same time and I hate playing with random players. I do also like comparing my KDR between seasons and this is actually my best season by far, before Seer got nerfed I went from hovering around 1.0 to 1.5 just by playing Seer exclusively. Post nerf I've gone back down a bit but still better than any prior season.

Instead of removing the most fun place to land on WE, just expand Fragment and remove the rest of the map. Instead of a donut, make it a donut hole
